My thinking is if England bat 90 overs, is they score more than 284 runs for a whole day's play............if there is no rain and no overs lost. Their lower order batsman play best when they attack no defend

Think if prior and broad can get to lunch.only rain can save the ossies Both score very fast and then panic among the down under.
Broad is really grinding mitches gears and I can see him getting walloped all over the place. Only the rain can stop an England win . In reality tho looks a draw rain will save them |

id be interested in seeing boyd rankin bowling flat out at perth
i saw him last season and he was easily quicker than anyone else i saw last season,......have we been holding him back for perth ? 2-0 down might be a bit late to unleash him |

There is some talk in the local media here in Perth and national circles that rookie Nathan Coulter-Nile will get a call up for Australia in the 3rd Test. He played a few ODI's in India recently

Agree Nigel. Full 90 overs today and a result for sure.

M Vaughan just tweeted a pic that its raining in Adelaide atm
By:
Good job they aren't playing cricket atm.
If it buckets down, it could affect play, but no indication it will. |
By:
Looking at the radar there are a lot of showers about and it will be hit and miss where they land.

Lashing down here in harpenden Looks set

WCE, I've got day 3 WACA tickets. Gonna be hot though 35C+.
Depending the state of the game, I might go home for the afternoon session. I live a 5 min bus ride away from the WACA. |
By:
nice are u from Perth as well pxb?
By:
Just looking at the radars , it looks like tons of the rain from the North-East, but from the south-west of the radar, it looks much clearer

I've lived in Perth on and off for 20 years. Really like it here.
As they say.'The worst thing about Perth is the East Coast isn't further away.' |
By:
wet morning early afternoon then clear
the weather aint saving us |
By:
yep Perth is a great place to bring up a family, the lifestyle is different, the people here are bit different compared to East Coast and the rest of the world. Perth is the kind of place where you have to have connections to feel the vibe of the City. It's in a way like a country town, being isolated and the people in a way are less friendlier, just my experience having lived here for 27 years
By:
Play gets underway at 10:30am, the maximum hours we lose in this one is one hour......after that the rain is cleared
By:
WCE, drop me a pm if you want to meet up for a beer at the ground.
By:
OK will keep it in mind
By:
if England can somehow bat out the whole 1st session without a loss of a wicket, Id price the aussie win to go to 1.45 at Lunch Time (its a big if)
By:
if England can somehow bat out the whole 1st and 2nd session without a loss of a wicket, Id price the aussie win to go to 3.00 at Tea Time (that won't happen)
By:
Looks like the game won't start on time today for the 5th day. IMO there will definitely be overs lost in the morning

I live in the Adelaide CBD about a mile away from the ground. There will definitely be a delayed start this morning. There is the tiniest amount of drizzle going on right now but it will clear soon. I can't see this weather preventing an Australian victory probably early afternoon. I'll wander down to the ground around midday, I think.
By:
any lost overs is a little advantage for England and their belief in getting a draw out of this
By:
The biggest winning 4th inn total by Eng post WWII is only 315. Biggest losing total is 417. Biggest 4th inn total at Adelaide is 445 by India.
By:
Im going to have a stab and say 40 minutes will be the delay in the morning
By:
Actually, they're now saying the game will be delayed til midday. Is there hope for England? Only having to survive two sessions with four wickets in hand sounds possible. Australia will win, but I think $1.12 is ridiculous. I'm having some of this. I think Australia will be at least $1.25 by lunchtime.
By:
1 or 2 light showers clearing before start of play. Don't see much of delay tbh. Will get an extra 30 mins at end of day if needed for 90 overs.
Although after the NZ game the other day. It seems umpires have been given extra latitude to get a result. |
By:
^^^ have to agree with u regulator
By:
Laying Australia at those odds is only good for a trade as I think some people will panic a bit like the NZ V West Indies game the other day
By:
1 hour of play in Test cricket equates to about = 13 overs of cricket. With the possibility to make that back in the late half hour= 7 overs of cricket. All up a lost of around 6 overs for the day. Can England defend 84 overs of Test Cricket? with 4 wickets in hand?
By:
Certainly isn't worth backing Australia now because once the tv coverage starts on sky in England and people see a bit of rain and get the news that the start is delayed (if that is the case) there will no doubt be a bit of a drift on the Aussie price
By:
the radar looks to be clearing, but sometimes showers just pop up from nowhere. Happens a lot in the uk. One minute the radar looks clear, the next more comes along!
By:
england fans will lump on the draw if they see its raining!
By:
The odds have started moving out. Did I do that? :) Anyway, it's started pissing down here. A mate has just texted saying the same from the suburbs. No prospect of play any time soon, I'd say. This is classic English cricket weather!
By:
im going to say it here Draw looks a fantastic price for a trade
