why with 5 and a bit overs left stokes
By:
If this game goes to a 5th day, its free entry to the ground
By:
if kp and root were in would be even money or odds on draw. it was 1.4 for oz just before kp got out
By:
Aussies NAILED ON to get 'Extra Time'
By:
Aussies will push the umpires to have another half an hour tonight, knowing there is rain tommorow
By:
"Wants to play his shots" Matt Prior needs to get his act together he needs to stay in, in hindsight England were in a capable situation for the draw earlier... playing there shots some of these players need to get dropped to learn a lesson about how tactically mug like they have been here getting out playing aggressive hook shots etc Don't they get it that they need to be gritty and fight out the draw
By:
unless they are planning to win this which is such an unwise decision
By:
what is wrong with Prior, just let it hit the thigh pad. numpty
By:
One more wicket will allow another 1/2 hour that gives prior and broad the green light to play mug shots and get caught playing aggressive
By:
You have to give credit to England I think they have applied themselves today, been gritty, especially KP, Root, Carberry and Stokes
By:
Prior natural mug player not stroke player, don't get why he even bothers playing deliveries which are not on stumps like that
By:
final over of the day and Prior is trying to hit everything out of the park, detestable play for his team
By:
100 runs or more in that session matched at 6/1
By:
odds pretty similar to the start of the day! Bizarre unless we lose 2 sessions tomorrow!
By:
Just looking at the weather forecast for tommorow, 50% chance of Precipitation in the Morning session, 40% chance in the Afternoon Session, 10% Chance in the Evening Session. Not sure if we will get the whole 90 overs in, and they are switching on the lights at Adelaide Oval late on that 4th day, so light should be no problem tommorow. Im guessing that at least 60 overs will be available for the Australians to knock over. (Maximum of 90)
By:
It will be an intriguing last day
By:
Also I say dont rule out the England win either................Ive seen some funny things happen in cricket....284 off 90 overs is manageable in terms of run rate
By:
lol...you talking about tailenders making 284.
the best england can wish for is a draw, its going to rain tomorrow at times |
By:
I think the rest will help them tonight, England will no doubt play for the draw but Broad, Swann and Andersen only know how to play 1 way and thats to attack
By:
If it gets to around 40 overs left to defend for England to save the game, Id price the odds as evens for Australia Win, and Draw
By:
on the move already!
By:
oz were 1.12 at close now 1.19 very tempting
By:
As play stands and with tomorrow's weather forecast would have thought a fair price for an England win would be around 300.....can't understand why they're only 85/90.
By:
I agree. Why the **** are their odds so low?? Laid my whole account at 100-1 thinking I was getting a bargain now they're into 80-1.
By:
jeez...the remaining batsmen made 9 runs between them in the first innings...ok slightly better in the 2nd but if ive ever seen free money then its laying England...and I think backing aus is also as near as damn rain or no rain ...cant see aus needing more than 20 overs to do the job
By:
laying england today at 25/1 and now at 80/1 is picking up money off the ground
By:
Geez you did well to lay them at 25/1. Looking at scorecard it's hard to see how they came in that low... They were 40/1 when I looked at lunch and those were crazily low odds even then
By:
there arent even enough overs left for england to win.
as if the lower order are scoring at 3 an over for an entire 5th day. wouldnt back england at 1000/1 |
By:
3.19 per over required
last ten overs they were going at 4.50 id still want a million before risking as much as a quid |
By:
Think they got into sub 15s didn't they when KP was still in?
The forecast I am looking at says 20% before play, 40% from 10-1, and 10% after that. And even if it is right, which it was today, there is every chance it misses the ground anyway and should be able to make up some time after. Can't really see any play being lost, and even if all that rain hits, no more than a session. 60 overs way more than enough to finish them off. Prior has runs, but will need to start his innings again, and that is unlikely to be successful. Ball already turning plenty, and plenty of close calls today, only luck can prevent an Aus win, and you make your own luck anyway. Ball is 10 overs old, so may see a few runs early and some better odds on offer. Think I will wait and see what the weather is tomorrow, and hope for an England fight and dump on Aus after the 30th over England going well. These 2 can put 50 on the board with a bit of luck (doubtful) and we will see closer to 1.50 Aus judging by current odds. May even watch the first couple and try and get a sneaky lay of Aus in for a couple of overs. I suspect the odds will be different in the morning though with a more current radar. All guesswork at the moment... IMO |

By:
This is the problem betting on events which England are contesting, you get these ridiculous odds on England, they are absolutely no chance of winning tomorrow.. 3 runs an over for 90 overs in the day, they're both going to play their shots and they will need to if they want to win but seriously.. not even an absurd amount of luck gets them home as Aus have their reviews back with the new ball
Best result for England is a draw but even that is highly unlikely |
By:
Agreed. But that doesn't mean for a second that Aus can't trade much higher. The ridiculous odds are true, but they are very consistant. When they get to where they should be, it will be quick. But every ball they don't go out on in the morning, is a chance to get even better value on Australia.
By:
Perhaps the reason why the odds aren't much bigger is Dennis Lillee & Rod Marsh are considering a bet on England

By:
What odds will England be at the Waca?
By:
nigel
i had them at 250/1 at start of innings given no adverse weather and england requiring 200 runs with 4 wickets left id price an england win at 66/1 |

It's hard to see anything but Australia wrap this up quickly tomorrow before lunch. I hope for England's sake that I'm proved wrong. They have to keep the Aussies out there as long as possible tomorrow as it will improve their chances at Perth should they win the toss and bat. We have to tire the Aussie bowlers out as much as possible tomorrow and make them work bloody hard on a lifeless pitch. Broad and Prior have to dispense with their natural games and blunt their attack. They've done it before when required. For Prior it is a massive personal knock as I can't see him playing at Perth unless he produces an innings of some substance. He strikes me as a man of substance and I'm sure he is thinking along the same lines, but Flower needs to lay it on the line to him and see how he responds. Forget the nonsense written about England - they just need to get stuck in. They can win at Perth and that process of winning there can start tomorrow

Also have to say I think Clarke got his declaration spot on here , giving his bowlers enough rest but also plenty of time to bowl Eng out a 2nd time.
By:
looks like we'll get the full 90 overs in if needed - odd to me to that ENG are now 150/1
