nice for all the draw backers, presuming they layed off.
i would have expected it drop to around 2.9 at that stage, but 2.44 is remarkable at 100-1 on day 1 with no rain forecast the entire test. ![]() |

I don't think it's anything to do with attack being the best form of defence. Some of these players are so weened on T20 crash, bang, wallop cricket, that they don't know what to do when scoring is difficult. Just rotate the strike for a few runs during difficult periods, keep the scoring going. Four or nothing half the time with these modern day cricketers.

How many times do you see Real Madrid or Barca score 2 goals in the first 10 minutes, fanny around for 50 minutes and then get done for a draw late on when they could have scored 7. Not often Sharkie but I did lay Madrid at 1.06 for a cheeky hundred last season when there were 1-0 all game and didn't kill it so put the lay in with 15 mins to go at at 1.06. I laughed and laughed when the equaliser went in at the end! K. Benzema 35' (assist by Cristiano Ronaldo) 1 - 0 1 - 1 90'+2 Cazorla even better than I thought, Carzorla got it! |

Proving that building a foundation of blocking out 20 overs is always best. Building a massive total here.

Run rate proven to be totally overrated, once again...

The most boring and inept batting display from England in years. Truly pathetic on a wicket that is not doing much.

Wicket has very few gremlins in it despite being slow and a slow outfield - should have been 300 for 4 at close

amazing how often the draw is backed in, then is virtually out the window by the end of day one.

Draws just happen far less in Test cricket these days. I'm amazed people back the draw, weather aside.

I have also layed 200 but looks unlikely now

Might have to wait until tomorrow to find out?

the draw is just a trading game and nothing to do with the actual chance of it being a draw.
everybody knows the draw drops if there hasnt been a wicket for about 2 minutes. its become a parody of itself. |
