I think it worked out for Clarke to be fair Shark i.e. he got lucky.  Lyon has not pressurised England into giving their wickets away.  Although I am not saying Clarke deserves credit for it.

Debatable, since Lyon hasn't done anything for any of his wickets. It's England batting or lack of discipline that has lost the wickets.

He may not have been turning it, but has certainly been putting it on the spot.

Oh siht, I bit again...  Skull...

credit due to Lyon for persuing a round the wicket line first day and pushing the batsmen into poor selection

You do realise the number of overs in a test is not infinite?

c'mon BJ,

jokes aside.  If Clarke gets a brute who is going to bat for more than 1 session?

Problem for you is Cook batted the equivalent of a session off his own bat, yet scored 51 runs.  You don't like run rate, but if an Aussie faces 160 balls, guarantee he will be more than 51.

Aussies have batted nearly 85 overs less this series, yet England have scored about 60 more runs.  We don't need to bat the same amount of time to make the same runs.

Ok BJ,

You win.  I am going to let you enjoy the cricket now but I am honestly concerned that Aus have had the winning dna bred out of them.  Do they know how to win anymore?  have they lost the mongrel?  Too many Julio's  and too much muesli, manicures and alfafa sprouts!  They've lost their True Brit grit!  Watch them fold and give it away.  The rain won't save them this time!

Australia were probably too concerned about run rate in the first Test too.
