seems a bit obvious, but umpire gave him out, if there is no drs then hes still out
i agree that some specialist video review persons be installed to make drs truely worthwhile |

Surely ACB need to take these gooses to court
|

if you tried to give that decision out, their is literally nothing you could argue. 0%
it was 100% out. i hate to say it but if this was the sub continent we would be calling cheats, and this reeks of it. leaves a sour taste in the mouth. dont want to watch anymore if this is what cricket has become. |

All this adds a lot of weight to the Indian argument for no reviews. The most accurate tool - snicko isn't used for some reason. The umpires are now getting confused on what to overturn. Complete shambles. I'm a big fan of the review system but it has to be used correctly.

it was the same in the NZ test, pissing down and the umpires make them play.. ****g disgusting
|
|
By:
it was 100% out.
are you a ****g moron |

umpiring both on and off field has left much to be desired in the series

There were two noises but the second was when the ball was a yard past the bat

Eng had no end of terrible decisions during Oz's reign.

BJT's jovial mood seems to have disappeared

I reckoned there was a faint nick and the difference between the noise on bat hitting the pad and bat hitting the ball is different, however snicko didn't pick up anything, so it should be not out,

"The umpires are now getting confused on what to overturn"
The problem isn't the technology, it is the fact that the umpires are incompetent and don't understand their role in the review process. |

Why no appeal there? Closer than the last one...
England should have seen that and withdrawn the appeal..... They saw exactly what happened on the big screen. To keep that appeal active when they knew the result, is pure fcuking rort. |

dharmesena is bent as feck.
dar bent as feck. what's amazing is they can get away with this rort. totally speechless. more so than the aleem dar/stuart broad spot fix. |

100% not out.
no way you could even argue it was out, all 3 signs pointed to 100% not out *mis typed above |

Snicko - Negative Hotspot - Negative. Visual - Negative Payment to 3rd Umpire - Positive

i think we should let khawaja bat on, unfortunately there is no way to do that. absolutely shocking decision that i am quite frankly embarrassed by, and i have large reds on aussies and the draw.

Clearly umpires don't understand what they are doing. Noise was clearly bat hitting pad long before ball passed by (an inch away from the bat). Can understand being given out in realtime by umpire hearing noise but third umpire is clueless. DRS was brought in exactly for these situations but needs third umpire to understand how all the different angles and noise comes together. I am big England fan but this makes the sport just look stupid and gives ammunition to all the luddites who don't want progress and innovation to make the game fairer. Very sad to see the system undermined like this....

Umpires will allways try to agree, with their colleagues, hence the out decision, but it was a not out

Bring back Dickie Bird imo

Woo betired if we win this test, it will all be 'but you only won because they incorrectly gave our Pakistani out' it aint fair boo hoo and we all know who the main bleater will be don't we

The whole argument of DRS was to take away the howlers and in the 3 test matches we have had, Agar, Broad, Trott and now Khwaja howler. Dont understand why you need it .

|

i am really gutted for the sport.....
|

I saw a second shooter. Sorry, heard a second noise.

Tell you what, anybody that questions Australians heart is ridiculous. For the Australian captain to cop it in the ass from these 3rd umpire fcukwits for 2 tests, and sit there and watch that, and then walk out to try and bat to still play the match out, needs a fcuking medal.
I certainly wouldn't. I would have taken the team to the pub in protest guaranteed.... |
|
By:
India allowed Bell to bat through after the howler..obviously England doesnt have that courage to do that
|
|
By:
it was only Kwoala ffs. With a test average of 4 he wont be a loss to the test. Trust me
|
|
By:
Well, well, well. When will the Aussies stop wasting these reviews.
|
|
By:
There was a second noise and even snicko showed that but by then the bat was miles away from the ball so that should be ignored
|
|
By:
Hey superam, how are you my good friend. I hope it p1sses down all day long on Saturday in Manchester.

draw is looking risky bet now !
|

My point is that initially the review system seemed to work really well but now we are getting more and more wrong decisions both ways even with all of the technology available. Hotspot which is pretty reliable was turned off for a previous decision and now the umps seem to have lost faith in it. Snicko seems really accurate but they don't use it, audio can be misleading but they use it? It might be time to scrap the lot and revert back to the on-field umpire.
