The more overs that are lost the better chance the Kiwis batting second must have, would that be a fair assumption.?

going to need at a minimum an hour from when it stops to getting back on again

(40 mins tidy up, inspection, 15 minute delay until start)

so the rain's got to stop at 15:15.

The latest this match can start to allow a 20-20 is 4.17 p.m.

I think its touch and go whether play will start by then. It looks like it could stop raining by then but not much before and they need enough time to dry the pitch once it stops.  Then if they play a 20-20 any further inturuptions will finish it and there could be the odd shower behind the main band of rain.

looks like about an hour of rain then maybe a 3 hour gap of dry weather
they should just decide now that it's a 20/20 match

Live 15 miles west of Cardiff and know the weather patterns pretty well here..Looks from the radar (raintoday.com) that it will rain until just about the cut off time .. it will get heavier before it eases...I think that the mop up time needed will kill off even a 20 over game
By:

When: 16 Jun 13 12:28
Make that mid-late afternoon

it will stop raining in 45mins to 1 hour.  then its clear for at least 3 hours, hopefully more.
its p!ssing it down on the wirral now, and none of your radars have a spec of rain up here, its moving quicker than expected.

So 45 to 1 hour of more raining. 1 hour for mop up. so that gives 2 hours of window to get a match. and then it starts raining again so this would be an abandnoed game stevie isnt it?

am i right in thinking england would still qualify if australia beat SL by almost any score tomorrow (presuming this is a NR)?  would surely take around a 100 run victory for the RR to improve.

If SL scored 250 Aussies need to chase in around 37 overs. If Aussies scored 250 need to bowl out SL at around 170
