Radar is a remote sensing tool used by weather forecasters to analyse the extent and intensity of precipitation. Radar detects objects by transmitting radio waves which are reflected back to the starting point by any object they encounter. Distance can be calculated using the speed of the radio waves and the amount of time that each pulse takes to reach the object and return back to the starting point. Rain, snow and hail all stop the radio waves. The more pulses that are reflected back, the greater the intensity of the precipitation, shown on RainToday by darkening shades of red.

NB at ranges over 90-100km, the accuracy decreases due to the natural curve of the earth and in some instances when the air is very dry near the surface some falling precipitation will have evaporated before it reaches the ground.

SoA' s two forecasts previous to this match were totally wrong, Eng-NZ test and then WI-SA one day, doesnt matter it rain or not it is going to be a Completed match.  Lets see if he gets it right today. He usually doesnt and then blames the umpires

BF didn't put this in play at the scheduled start time, as they always do. Maybe the button monkey fell asleep, but if a change in policy, makes CM a lot more interesting for us Aussies.

Anyway greened for a modest profit. No idea whats going to happen re CM

As they must have known the weather forecast is this not a reason to pick a team more suited to shorter matches, like a mix of the 20 and 50 over teams?

this is the weather they were predicting for 12 steam.  mostly light rain but some heavier patches, though the heavy patches are not guaranteed to hit cardiff.  once this has gone its clear.

the fact that it has arrived quickly suggests strong wind, which is also a bonus for completed match.

Weather.com says rain whole day, yr.no says overcast whole day. May be ill take the bet for No today.
