message clear now....1.7 was nice..
By:
so was the 6.4 tho.

By:
lay 1.54...near bottom...sit back for a while....
By:
PJ be back soon i imagine...
By:
not convinced about 1.55.
are england really 1/2 to fck up batting out 4 and a half sessions-ish on this track? |
By:
1.8 on 225 seems a fair bet to me - if they come back out after lunch, then surely they will get that.
By:
Great captaincy here imho....if..
By:
this england price is refusing to budge isnt it! Certain people must be confident that NZ have a specific target in mind -rather than say an hour after lunch
By:
wish my bank was big enough, england should be 100
By:
I wouldn't even be backing it at 100s. Possibly not 200.
By:
The lead is now 415 runs
By:
world record run chase is 418
By:
By:
I wouldn't back England at 25 if he declared now
By:
By:
141 runs scored in that session. some good hitting.......totally didnt expect that
By:
12-15 overs more is most probable i have thought all along..
By:
Reckon I would have priced NZ to score 140+ runs in that session around 10/1
By:
another hours batting and england wont even attempt to chase it
By:
i would have laid that westcoast...totally surprised by that session
By:
the only thing with the 4th inns record is so often it is determined by the match. plenty of those matches probably could have had a lot more runs chased than the simple record would suggest.
By:
the crazy thing , was 47 runs were scored in the 1st hour BUT 94 runs were scored in that 2nd hour
By:
just cant see england chasing and risking the series
By:
lets face it we are looking at 500 maybe 550
By:
England stay number two in the World if they draw. Can't see them risking that either.
By:
I reckon they will try to get Peter Foulton his 100 and then declare short after lunch...........he needs another 9 runs or so
By:
disagree westcoast,,they know if they leave 450ish, with more than 4 sessions they risk losing it..unlikely as it would be, but i reckon they want england totally out of the game so they have 2 chances draw or win
By:
Vaughan reckons 500.
By:
Any point in NZ declaring before tea ? That still leaves 4 full sessions to see if they can rattle England . And should give them a 500 lead which in theory is too big a target .
Might declare halfway through ths next session , dependent on how fast they score after lunch . See Athers is agreeing with my hour prediction , not sure if thats good or not ! |
By:
McCullum is an attacking captain, a 450 lead and he will say enough. No side has ever scored more than 418 and unless Cook, Trott and Prior could get 350 between them, there is no chance of victory and as no side has ever scored 450 to win a Test and its not going to happen in this game.
By:
to not reach 500, would be wasting a great position..no way england chase 500, and it means nz can spend 4 sessions crowding the bat
By:
my lunchtime 2 cents:
I would have the draw significantly sub 3.0 here, england much longer than they are and NZ a bit longer. maybe something like 1.66, 2.68, 80 on the basis of that session, either NZ are way better than england, or the pitch is way better than the bowlers. it's the latter, NZ will know it, the declaration will be a bit more cautious than some now believe and england will be faced with what shouldn't be that massive an ask: batting out against a moderate team on a flat track. |
By:
cri**** it would be enough, but no captain wants to risk being in the record books for the wrong reasons
By:
ffs betfair grow up man
By:
having never played cricket how difficult is it for a team to go out and stay at the crease and not worry about scoring it appears easy to go just defend and ignore playing shots outside the wicket area for last days play
By:
Yes, but England were bowled out for 203 in the 1st innings, against this moderate attack and I agree betfair do want to grow up, regarding names.
By:
a lot harder than it was..theres a lot of 20/20 style mentality in the game nowadays, not many batsmen can concentrate like athers, tavare, boycott etc used to
By:
I think McCullum would rather go down as the captain who was first to beat England in a series since I think 1984.
By:
Is tnuc OK?
By:
Yes!
