your making things up to justify your point there skips

skips does tell a good story though and i tend to agree with most of what he says

rain you never know it rained last year in a dubai test i think in india v pakistan game maybe like had not rained for months or even years
![]() |
By:
Let's just see England at 100/0 and game over please. Is that too much to ask?
![]() |
By:
maybe but unlikely i tend to think but again you never know in this game could be 90/6 do you remeber when pakistan set them 200 odd to win on a similar pitch think they were bowled out for 150 ish if not less

By:
D13 im not making nethin up pal
Its just my views on the players and how i feel they are playing at the mo If u disagree with me thats fine This game is all about opinions I mite be wrong and england bat out for a day and a half and never a moments worry but i dont think it will be that easy th whole series rests on these next two innings in my eyes india have nuthing to loose england have everything to loose Would be a disaster i they threw this away now ![]() |
By:
will be big pressure on england which they have handled on some occassions as when last in Aus and otherwise playing pakistan

skips, Whatever your concerns about the England batting, there may as many concerns about the Indian bowling.
If I was an Indian backer - do I think Sharma, Ojha, Chawal, Ashwin, Jadeja can bowl out England in 3 sessions. I would have my doubts, and I certainly don't want to have my money on it. I can't get past this when it comes to backing India. They could quickly get sulky as we've seen, and I expect some kind of partnership to emerge; as someone said Cook's innings could set the tone - the morning session will be huge - really looking froward to it. Early night tonight, was on the sauce big time last night, bit shattered today - need to go out about 8pm but should be in bed by 9.30 - 10pm, tired already which suits well. Will certainly sleep, should be fresh for 4am ![]() |

Didn't see any action after lunch today. Was the pitch doing anything late on?
By:
the ball was reverse swinging and some slow turn on offer england bowled well later in the day
By:
Cheers.
By:
It wasn't doing anything of any significance from what I've seen, which was the last session. Slow throughout the day again.
I know it doesn't mean it wont tomorrow - hopefully though stays slow. |
By:
Not doing a great deal to be honest
Think it suited the spinners more Im not knocking england atall love the boys they have won me a rite few quid last few tests And would love to see them win the series i really would Ive just got this gut feeling they are gonna fall at the last hurdle Even if they got bowled out for 300 with three sessions to go india will go into 20/20 mode and go for it And if they start off 60-0 off 8-9 overs market will panic |
By:
Ok PTT, I was watching on iphone in bed, and half-nodding, so perhaps it was doing a bit, but certainly wasn't much. Have a feeling it could be late on tomorrow before anything significant. Who knows
.Again, going on a bit I know, but England seem to get more out of it than India. |
By:
englands seamers especially however a slower turner suits the indian spinners more as monty relies on a bit of bounce and swanny relies on flight and accuray so easier to read of the slow pitch
By:
personnally I think all 3 results are on offer. It all depends if the pitch deteriorates or not.
I cleared my Indian red and sacrificed my England green. If the ball starts spinning I might buy some England at the current prices. I might buy some India if they are skittled and move out. I am happy to be on the draw for now. |

Im really coming round to laying the draw big time
Two days left a nervy england a reckless indian team that are gonna have to throw the kitchen sink at getting themselves a result 5/1 on england cud be huge Because taking on the big shots will lead to wickets |
By:
Because india taking on the big shots *
By:
best early scenario is indias tail fiddling around for two hours for forty/fifty runs, totally killing a crucial session, then i think england will be semi positive from the outset
By:
England will be batting within half an hour in my opinion.
By:
Ashwin will hit out
The tail will just try and get him on strike |
By:
Ishant and Ojha are walking wickets. A bit like Ian Bell.
By:
so would you prefer india wasting say 90 minutes to scrape a 25 run lead? or england striking rapidly and leading by twenty? im going for the first option
By:
I want india to declare to be honest
By:
overnight?
By:
well just before play i mean?
By:
Yeh dont want them wasting 8-10 overs scrapping to get 20 runs suprise england they wud not be expecting it
By:
maybe a bit too leftfield for india? would be a surprise for england for sure but 35 runs behind could be crucial and im not sure they would declare..far better givin it a 20/20 style tail end slog and hope to fall past parity
By:
Yeh agree just want ashwin to go nuts straight from the first ball
By:
why are india shorter than england to win last test, whatever england score 2nd inns. india would be hard pressed to match, pitch likely to deteriorate and englands bowlers have proved they are superior.
By:
Thats a good shout barry
A very valid point All series the price has always been alot shorter than it shud have been on india same again i guess |
By:
there are a number of possible reasons India are shorter. I'm not sure which make sense but here are 2
Pressure is now on England to bat out the match. A couple of early wickets and the unthinkable becomes not just possible but probable. Pressure does funny thinks to the mind and a slow turner becomes a sticky dog. Pitch conditions require cautious batting not kamikazi. England may bat through to lunch day 5 and be less than 200 ahead leaving India 60 overs to get them, not impossible Its a draw for me still unless the pitch breaks |
By:
barry - its situational as much as anything. If we were in the exact same situation in this test but England were losing the series 2-1, they would definitely be much shorter. Its mostly because England's first objective is to secure the draw - the market says they have a 1.75 chance of doing so. So really the market is on England's side. Of course, if secured it probably will reduce the chances of an England win. If they don't secure the draw then obviously India would have to be in a stronger position to win.
So in terms of likely outcomes its (1) Draw (2) India win (3) England win - market is not saying India the better team and therefore more likely to win. Hypothetically speaking, if there was no time factor - i.e. play until there was a winner, England would be favourites (excepting the mug Indian money factor. Well hot milk taken now, time to sleep - looking forward to this I must say - even though I hope its damp squib and England effortlessly knock and block their way to about 200/4 by close . |
By:
MARK MY WORDS!
Chaps the pitch has been in a horrible condition from the very first ball Its only a matter of time before the strip becomes a minefield I really believe there will be a result |
By:
I reckon the two main outcome's our
England implode 220 all out india chase down Or england post 325 slowly, india go for it and get skittled im not sure what one will happen thou |
By:
Are*
By:
Draw moved in nicely from 1.85 earlier. I still like the draw - remember there's still two Indian Batsmen to get out yet including Ashwin
By:
nice few ticks made on the draw without a ball being bowled. eng 7.0s is getting ridiculous now.
By:
But the draw has nothing to do with the last two Indian batsman.
It's all about how England bat in their second innings because England aren't trying to win any more. Any declaration will leave India needing well over 4 per over. England only win my default if they're bowled out but still manage to bowl India out for less. |
