Just watched highlights cp - surprised from cricinfo and sky ball by ball reports they didn't mention the pitch - led to believe on there it was low and dead - well it is not in my opinion - bres moving it sideways , monty some slow sideways turn , unpredictable bounce .
I see day 3 going as this - Eng bowl them out in 50 - 60 overs - new ball due in 40 - ind 100 ish behind Your only fear is an eng collapse and fear setting in - a solid 3rd innings knock from cook Compton kp root trott Swann I really like your position - I would be leaving it for now - if ind do counter attack you have plenty of time Hope this helps - thinking of laying ind more myself after watching highlights |

Inj - fair point but he's in a dominating position - I'd watch the first session first if he can get up

i'm
India -911 Draw + 435 England + 218 India at 5.5 is a way too skinny price imo The markets seem to have discounted a quick fall of 2 wickets tomorrow morning- whats the price going to be at 100/2 tomorrow??? i'll happily lay some more and take a short term small trading loss if they bat on serenely through the first half hour i cant see India here - surely current price should be well into double figures? i'm acting accordingly ![]() |

I would personally take some off England put it on the draw
compensates you either way. If India bat well, the draw comes in, if they get skittled your England back is more or less home and hosed i would then reevaluate tomorrow |
|
By:
lets be honest, the price of India is a joke.
they need to get 300+ from 90/4 and then bowl out England for under 200ish and then knock them off. i dont make that a shot just above 4/1 |
|
By:
thats 100/6
|

guys thats why im tempted this time yesterday i was big red on draw but india @2.2 with eng only 5 down was crazy i thought, so clattered them to get this position, not too worried of levelling draw/eng its win win but an eng collapse is danger still could happen,
sno2 i haven't seen a ball bowled followed TMS and cricinfo, and at no point was it mentioned bres was moving it about, see if pitch starts playing up draw wont happen |

whatever happens indias price is wrong, losing wkts today , they scored a 3 and price came in crazy

All good opinions.
My take on betting generally is that sport is unpredictable and that's why we love it. I've backed my so called knowledge and failed many a time. Sport, especially Test Cricket fluctuates from day to day to day. Play the numbers, call it once, maybe twice and then log off..Don't get greedy. The india price is skinny but if you love a momentum market then back it cos you should see 4s. Indian dosh etc... |
|
By:
its just indian mug money assuming because they have to win they will win.
they have been under 2.4 SP throughout the series and could get beat 3-1 |
|
By:
different to me injera but that is why betfair is great.
I like to attack a winning position and reduce a losing one. i often think people do it the other way round which is the wrong way imo. |
|
By:
cunning why havent you been watching, do you prefer TMS?
|
|
By:
id normally say go level green and move onto the aussie game or whatever else, but in this instance you just have to be against india at a crazy crazy price
|
|
By:
Cp - 100pc he was moving it off the wicket - one nick went through first slip position - slip would have had to be close to catch it .
Laid another 100 of India - quite a significant bet for me now - will try and get up tomoz |

Come on eng - early wickets please

sno2 if pitch is doing more, then logic says india only got stroke players left should be chances going in morning

i often think people do it the other way round which is the wrong way imo. spot on. If you've layed India, keep laying or do nothing. Greening at such a price will cost you in the long run. |

But doesn't that assume a winning position will stay a winning position?
If there's one thing I've learnt is that games swing this way and the next. Be humble, take the profit and move on. 20s can become 1.01s and vice versa. Respect sport to have the ability to surprise and shock. One of the biggest mistakes I've made is to think this match, this game, this series is where I HAVE to make a killing. It's not, there are thousands of opportunities to come.. |
|
By:
no it merely assumes that i will continue to trade if i still believe the price is wrong and not just accept a profit
this applies to when i have got it wrong as well |
|
By:
injera you are correct i've learned same lesson, i trade football usually but this game does give me options dont think it will change very quick
|
|
By:
i think what makes this so good is india are being backed for scoring a single, they are well behind and market wont have it so money to be made, if india ahead wouldnt be as lucrative, must be indian money blind faith

Nearly layed India at 3.5 myself when SRT came in. Monty spun 2 passed the edge and just as I was about to press the button Anderson came in and produced a jaffa. As a matter of interest he had a reverse swing grip but the ball came in off the pitch it either hit the seam spot on or a crack.
Interesting to listen TMS and delayed feed off sky on internet. Don't tell anyone and I wouldn't admit to this in public but the Sky commentators were better and more to the point about the match. I love to listening to TMS but they really need to commentate on the match at hand sometimes. Geoffrey as usual calls it correct. I dont think the game will end in a draw. I think England in the footballing vernacular wins it. People who think England will declare and set a target are deluded. They will try and bat India into oblivion but lucky for you blinkered people they will get bowled out doing so leaving India a scent of victory that will be ruthlessly quashed all inho. I won't be betting anymore in the match save to close red on India if the opportunity presents itself. India could bat for two good sessions tomorrow and move close enough to England to present a clear and present danger. This will keep a 3 way market open. The India of Sehwag, Dravid, Tendulker and Laxman are no more. Kohli and Dhoni could bat well on this pitch but I don't think so. I expect the ball to start spinning and the cracks to widen. |

just put my football money laying india hope england dont spurn this chance
|
|
By:
tomorrows first session for me is potentially the most pivotal so far..

The draw is being overlooked in my opinion at a nice price.

its definitely a player imo, and i was a layer initially

Cunning - wise move and don't worry. You really can't compare the odds on offer here to a football match and all the multitude of vagaries that will throw up (tell me about it).
Injera - wise words, I respect your more cautious advice for Cunning, obviously based on experience that many of us have shared down the years. Yes, you're right, sport can produce countless finales that just could not have been imagined, let alone expected. But... For India to win this match, their lesser batsmen (in terms of recent form, not based on ancient history or career stats)need to play out of their skins (despite evident poor body language and the dire situation they now find themselves in trying to save it) and . . . at the same time England's bowlers who have dominated this and the last 2 Tests will have to endure nothing less than a brain seizure for the touring side to LOSE this game. CAN both happen? Yes, of course. WILL they? Probably, and hopefully, not. All over by the end of Day 4, or early on day 5 if England need another 20-40 to seal it. I'll try and wake up and tune in around lunch-time in Nagpur, fully expecting to see India all out and England at 50-0. Sweet dreams! |

The India price is extraordinary low.
|
|
