Because they did not want to upset them by forcing them to cancel flights!
The Government did not understand the seriousness of the situation now they have done for the airlines but don’t worry they will bail them out with our tax payer money! Let’s see how much BA / IAG and Virgin get What happened during the last crisis....the Banks were bailed out! The rich were bailed out by the rest of us! |

As individuals the people who run these organisations do not need bailing out in any way, they're all rich to start with.
And they stay rich despite what happens to their businesses. Governments act to preserve jobs for the little people, whose votes they depend to get them elected. The banks had to be bailed out, The airlines will have to be saved, and any large employer has to be stopped from going out of business. It's not done for politic reasons, it's done because it has to be. |

Excellent then we can nationalise BA and Virgin and pay them current market rate for their shares or better still let it go to The Receivers and the tax payer will get an even better deal! Isn’t that how Capitalism works?

If they don’t pay wages to their workers then we should not pay anything to the share holders as the Airlines are currently worthless and capacity will not increase any time soon
