Excellent film Ghosts, directed by Nick Broomfield, based on the 2004 Morecambe Bay cockling disaster, when 23 illegal Chinese workers lost their lives. (film is on YouTube) Film shows the serious risks being taken by these desperate people, and sad thing about it, 15 years later an even worse disaster with 39 dead. So what's changed since Morecambe Bay, not much, the problem has got worse !

If they knew they would be found, and removed immediately, we would get less taking the risk. Too easy to live in this country with no official ID.

At least six of the 39 people found dead in a lorry trailer in Essex may have been from Vietnam.

A man was earlier arrested at Stansted Airport on suspicion of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic people.

The 48-year-old from Northern Ireland is the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the investigation.

The Vietnamese are often used in the cultivation of canabis here in the UK.
These people are often kept as prisoners in rented property that is converted/wrecked into a canabis farm

Det Ch Insp Pasmore said he was aware there may be people in the UK illegally who are concerned for a relative but are fearful of approaching the police.

"Essex Police will take no action whatsoever against an individual that comes forward," he said

More free passes, like the fire job.

Fifth arrest as part of Essex lorry deaths investigation

A man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the deaths of 39 migrants in a lorry in Essex.
The man, in his early 20s, was arrested at Dublin port in connection with an outstanding court order, police said.

It is understood that Essex Police has an interest in the man as part of their investigation into the deaths of eight women and 31 men found in the refrigerated trailer in an industrial park in Grays in the early hours of Wednesday.

Just one in every 100 sealed containers at Zeebrugge are x-rayed, and none are checked for heat, according to authorities at the Belgian port through which the 39 people found dead in the back of a lorry in Essex are believed to have travelled.

Joachim Coens, the chief executive of Zeebrugge port, and Peter Degroote, a harbourmaster, defended security at the port but admitted sealed containers were not checked inside and x-ray scans were only used – rarely – to check for goods, not the presence of humans.

Questions have been asked about security at the port, from where the lorry is believed to have travelled to the UK carrying the 39 people on Tuesday. Their bodies were discovered in the back of the lorry in an industrial estate in Grays early on Wednesday.

The container in which 39 people were found dead was part of a convoy of three lorries, relatives of the suspected victims say.
They believe that over 100 migrants were being brought to the UK on the lorries.
Two of the vehicles are thought to have completed their trips but the third, which was carrying the deceased victims, was delayed at an unknown location.
The eventual destinations of the two other containers are not known.

A 25-year-old man from Northern Ireland has been charged with 39 counts of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic people, Essex police said in connection with the discovery of 39 bodies in the back of a lorry in Essex.

Mo Robinson was arrested early on Wednesday morning after police were alerted to the discovery of 31 men and eight women found dead in the back of a lorry trailer in Grays, Essex.

Robinson had picked up the trailer, which had arrived in Purfleet from Zeebrugge, with his Scania lorry cab less than an hour earlier.

Doesn't take long, does it.Sad

Society and social cohesion depends on our ability to express compassion and measure our ‘wealth’ in how we treat the most vulnerable in our communities.

'conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration'

Interesting.... Our MSM never use the words 'unlawful' nor 'illegal'.

The BBC have a defined policy to describe all entrants as 'migrants' whether they be legal or not. The sooner we tell the world we're intolerant of ANY illegal entrants the better for us AND them.

Sadly the 'open borders' idiots wil keep encouraging people to spend their hard earned in order to get here. Many do and WILL die trying.

Building walls will not solve the problem, you need to address the root cause.

Chief Inspector David Bolt said: “The numbers of clandestine arrivals identified at east coast ports had risen. The overall sense was that Border Force was stretched, in some instances too thinly, but coping.”

Angoose, walls keep people safe. It's why you have doors on your house, a fence, a hedge, a boundary.

People like you want open borders leading to thousands of peopele dying on route to golden streets that don't exist.

For those make a safe journey, they will face abuse, exploitation, low pay and shoddy accomodation.

The open borders lobby want cheap migrant labour. They want to create MASSIVE job opportunities, especially in the human trafficking sector. Not to mention in prostitution....Sad

Injera, how can you possibly claim to know what I want in regard to border policy?
Jumping to conclusions is a very bad way to arrive at the truth.

You do, however, appear to present a somewhat contradictory argument in regard to open borders and dangerous journeys.
If borders were truly open, why would the journeys of migrants be dangerous?
