remember when coldplay were indy darlings? they were knees of the bees
this is the problem with music in the uk it is about fashion as much as the music, more actually.
i'm old enough to remember when dire straits were the next big thing,a few albums later they cracked
the USA & good on them. Suddenly a joke in the UK but MK was cashing the
cheques so who was laughing.
pisses me off big time that bands have to conform. The Police the Cure, Depeche mode were all indy loved.,
all got abuse for finding a global audience. The Killers ffs, headlining tonight, total indy darlings

i don't really care about coldplay but i wouldn't dump on them either, if they sell songs they must be doing something right.
it would be a dull world if we all liked everything

drugs f**k up band. i think i read that somewhere.
The bands of the 60's 70;s saved the lives of later bands,
here is what not to do. the fleetwood mac doc is the best,
total excess creating utter madness but what a ride it must have been.

Hetfield went off the rails and into rehab and is totally sober for ears, he comes across as fairly smart and articulate in interviews. It's funny how some of these "rockers" come across as intelligent and well spoken when off stage. This is of course a market excluding Ozzy Osbourne ;)
