Another classic case of media people (and others) pretending to like an artiste because of his background and colour, rather than his (alleged) music. Given the choice, 99.99% of the spectators at the event would prefer the main stage to be occupied by any reasonably competent traditional rock band, but being deluded Corbynistas, they would rather die than admit it.  What's needed of course is for a small child to emerge from the assembled rabble and shout 'The Emperor Stormzy Is Wearing No Clothes'.

Agreed. Glastonbury sold out when they had that other rapper headline a few years back but I guess they are trying to accommodate other music genres. If I was 40 years younger I don't think I'd be interested in grime, more likely indie bands. Each to their own though. Yes, media typyes trying to sound and look cool. BBC acting of course as if this is a major event in British social history. They should lay off the drugs.

So if say Pink Floyd or U2 were headlining the even what would be the difference , if you look back in history most artists make money and make political statements

To be fair most of the decent bands have died or are dying ,stock, aitken and Dennis Waterman and Cowell have killed popular music.
There will be a special place in hell for them and rappers.

Indeed Cooperman, and delivered to a 99.99% white middle class crowd, very few of whom have incidentally bought any of his recordings.

That BBC report posted at 08:41 is unintentionally hilarious and I recommend it to the house. Even Mastermind Lammy gets in on the act, which is always a sign of an impending disaster. The lack of self-awareness amongst these people is quite extraordinary.

I’ve actually got some ideas for Stormzy’s next album, which I offer him completely free of charge, and he needn’t even mention me in the credits.

Stormy, we’ve all heard of ‘Rock Opera’. Why not try a ‘Rap Opera’?

I reckon you should put out a double album called ‘LAMMY’ about an unfortunate boy who is deaf dumb and blind to his own catastrophically poor judgement.

The lead single could be about your hero making appalling judgements about the nasty white people who have bankrolled Comic Relief for 30 years. And how those misjudgements cost that charity a fortune in 2019.

Stormzy, given your stated concerns about knife crime, and any number of appalling problems in the capital, your next album really must discuss the community primarily responsible for drug-dealing and the attendant knife/gun crime involved. Agreed?

Stormzy, the entire country was shocked by the Grenfell Tower Disaster. I’m sure that you will wish to lambast in song, in the strongest possible terms, the many sick criminals who have been caught making fraudulent claims about the disaster, and stealing precious public money in the process.

Making a statement like that would certainly be a first for an artiste who is a supporter of Labour politicians.

what do you think knife crime is connected to, i can guess but maybe i'm wrong.
how come a few years ago Glasgow was the knife crime hot spot, vast majority being having zero racial element.
throw in the racial element and it just distracts from the reasons that always underline it.

Yeah most people just take the bits that correspond to their view of reality , all knife crime is terrible and people should be punished , the same as the bankers who commit financial tyranny on the public

Stormy, you simply MUST have one song where you pretend to be a Pizza Delivery driver in London town, just trying to make an honest living.

Unfortunately, your attempt to deliver a large Pepperoni job to Citizen Khan in Newham falls foul of a problem community. You then have to walk home because they nicked your delivery vehicle.

These pictures might help you.

Christ....that was a shock to the system!

Had to take a peek, to see what it was all about, and it took some courage to stay with the first performance (almost)!

I noticed on here that someone talked of "songs" and "tunes"!

Please can someone post the times, when such phenomena occurred, as I don't want to have to look for it!

Worryingly is that, it seemed, some people knew the lyrics!

My sister (in her early eighties) spent her last few years in a nursing home, and there were several others in their nineties.

When they were doing, such as hitting balloons around, they would sing along to "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do",
and such other emotive classics, from their early years...

So, when these revelers are in similar circumstances, will they be singing along to "Stormzy" and the likes of?

Oh the irony! Black man wearing Union Jack stab vest and blaming it on the whiteys!

Lammy even tweets his anger at the criminalisation of black kids and his support for Stormzy! Classic! Maybe if black kids didn't stab people, we wouldn't need stab vests??

LONDON teenagers are now buying stab-proof and bullet-proof vests to protect themselves in the streets as violence continues to spiral in the capital, a crime charity has warned. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1024679/london-news-crime-stabbing-murder-stab-vest

I had a bizarrre dream last night Journey had reformed and released a single about Brexit. The melody was actually very good, I'm still humming it to myself, the takeaway point is even dreaming on a friday night my brain can write better music than "Grime artists".

I can't wait to sleep tonight to see how high it gets in the dream charts.
