"Imagine if a right-winger had 'joked' about acid attacking left-wing politicians.

The media would be apoplectic. Breathless coverage.

Jo Brand 'jokes' about acid attacking right-wing politicians and there's ZERO mainstream coverage.

Incredible"

Any publicity is better than no publicity, if you are in the entertainment business

Can't agree with the OP more. If a male "right wing" comedian had made a joke about a female left wing remainer, they'd never work for the BBC again. There would be obvious comparisons about Cox etc.

Brand made some other nasty joke targetting a politician I think, (I presume "right wing" or brexit supporting) when hosting HIGNFY at the weekend, did anyone catch who that was directed at? I didn't catch the target. But knowing the show is normally five remoaner/leftie's on the attack from start to finish, it's a fair guess it was probably a tory/brexiteer or trump..

Ahh now I get it. I had the HIGNFY on in the background as I was doing something else (and it's now sh1t) and I remember wondering if it was a repeat as the stories were old. It was recorded a while ago but delayed as they had a remoaner politician on, as opposed to normal weeks when it's other remoaner comedians, remoaner journalists, and remoaner C list celebs.

You have to laugh at the double standards from the bbc, Carl Benjamin made a joke about not raping a woman on his satirical youtube channel, where he was attacked left right and centre but the bbc decides it is ok when it comes from one of their comedy shows.

Public: "We need to regain our national sovereignty and protect our rights and freedoms."
Media: "But what do you have to say about this tweet?"?

A few years ago I had the misfortune to attend an event at which she was 'the act'. Thirty minutes of nothing but unfunny obscenities, constantly looking at her watch and bang on thirty minutes announced 'Time up, I'll pick up my cheque on the way out'.

Usual double standards by auntie. Not a mention today. In saying that, the actual joke didn't offend me but tuther way round, twitter would be in meltdown. (I guess. Don't use that either!)

When Carol Thatcher made a light-hearted remark about someone's hair, saying it made him look like a former generation children's toy. The BBC sacked her and Jo Brand tore her off a strip as well.

Now Brand has overstepped the mark with this very distasteful remark she says her insults were a joke.

And more, the BBC apologised for her remark at the end of the show instead of deleting it. So as the show was a recording, the BBC take the responsibility as well.

When was the last time you had a damned good belly laugh at anything on the BBC?

Frankie Boyle used to  push the envelope - now he defends the abject and indefensible.

HGNFY? Do me a faviur!

So unless Michael McIntyre and Mrs Brown's Boys has you rolling in the aisles you're left with turning over to....oh Jesus not 'The Last Leg' please!!

Context - it was said during a comedy show on the radio
Intent - to get a laugh by taking the p1ss out of the people that throw milkshakes

It wasn't very funny because...... er she isn't very funny - but it has given all the snowflakes on here something to moan about.

What is 'funny' about that remark exactly because I'm really struggling to find any humour in it personally? Who of 'sound mind' would find that comment amusing because I most certainly do not.

This forum provides plenty of evidence already but good to have another example of the reactionaries being as fragile as the hysterical SJWs they despise
