Well done for your 8weeks
but from reading your story .you will only stop when you've had enough pain .and you've not had enough
You didn't just decide one day you will stop drinking .because you wanted to save money .you decided that something was wrong .and it was causing pain and I promise you 100% that pain will get worse and worse and WORSER
All the best to you what ever you decide to do .but I know what I would bet on and it's a cert . A cert proove me wrong by all means and I will say I'm wrong and hold my hands up .but I said CERT AND I KNOW A CERT WHEN I SEE ONE .AND AFTER READING YOUR FORM YOU ARE THE BBIGGEST CERT IVE EVER SEEN SAD TO SAY

THIS IS NOT TO HAVE A GO AT YOU ITS JUST TO SAY THAT YOUR ON THE ROAD THAT IVE TAKEN AND SEEN MANY MORE TAKEN ALL WITH THE SAME RESULTS MORE AND MORE AND MORE PAIN

I went to Saltaire Brewery festival last night, had far more than my normal couple of pints and feel so ill that I won't have more than two pints for months now. Can't even remember getting home though I caught two trains and a taxi Cry

Aversion therapy keeps it that way fortunately, I wouldn't want to feel like that very often. Much better now after a large English brekky but I had to wait for it til I'd finished pukin. Blush

Glad its going well for you prepared, unless you were an Alcoholic i doubt if the odd drink will hurt you. I was a 14 pt a night bloke 30 odd years ago, piled on weight and stopped worrying about appearance etc. Once you break the cycle, decided i was spending too much of my money on booze, you wonder why on earth you drunk so much. Only have about 3 pints when i go out now and thats enough, back to my normal weight of about 12 1/2 stone and feel a lot better mentally and physically. Then i started to wonder why i was spending so much money watching the Villa when i could see the highlights and goals on TV, so stopped going to see them as well!
Now i'm sober and bored stiff!Laugh

It won't hurt him at all, it'll just start him back on the slippery slope he made so much effort to get off.

You've done 9weeks and like I said from what I've read in your thread you stoped drinking because it was costing more than money .all that you've gone through once you pick up that first drink will have to go through again if you decide to stop .I couldn't go through it again
Like I said you've not had enough pain and hit rock bottom otherwise you wouldn't even be thinking about picking up

You will find a million excuses to pick that first drink up and then you will find a million more to pick the next one's up .while that pain that stopped you this time will have progressed and got much worse

Seems harsh but it's a fact

I won't call you if you pick up again .it's just what I did time and time again untill the pain was unbearable and threw the towel in

Haven't read back but, sincere apologies if anyone got there first...

You said you don't drink spirits, but best to mix it up a bit, for a better outcome!

Drink as much as you can force down your neck, then cease...

Have the most dreadful, up all night throwing up, worst experience ever and, still feeling like death halfway through the next day,
say the two words that could change your life.....

Never again!!!

Ps if I'd of been in your shoes and red this post I would becon my way to the pub to get a pint.
It's only the pain that stopped me from drinking not the pain which I caused the family
You can only stop when YOU WANT TO STOP FOR YOUR SELF

Don't know if you know this but the only remedy for this level of alcohol intake is to keep drinking this is exactly how alcoholics are formed and it doesn't do anything to prevent anyone from drinking who is predetermined to this kind of abuse,in fact it lets them know that they can go this far and feel better once they start drinking again.
Ask anyone who's drank heavily for a number of years and they'll say the same, only way to avoid having a drinking problem is not to drink at all and find other ways to spend your time.

Tomorrow will be 10 weeks and still going well. No interest in a drink at all right now although its my birthday
next friday so that will feel a bit strange without a beer.
Anyway yes i believe a lot of it comes down to boredom, so keeping extra busy with the gambling and might have a lady on the go as well Wink
Must say sober sex doesn't last that long BlushLaugh

tastes like the real Ghost Ship

IMHO the best low/no alcohol beer available.
