as if we are still in the eu?
|

we are still in it. It will carry on until she's removed. Whether it's by the back door or by any means foul, whatever way she can find to keep this country tied to the EU. The nutcases sole priority since the Lancaster House betrayal has been to divide & conquer, disintegrate & deflect, delay & dismay plus of course bend over to the EU. I can't even think of the future while she is in charge. You've asked me on here once or twice what difference would it make if she was removed? All the difference in the world, is my answer

if we leave without a deal we will be subject to the union customs code as a third country without a deal, all relevant rules on vat to all imports and exports to the uk will apply, with no mutual recognition agreement on conformity assessment every day thousands of consignments that previously crossed without checks will be subject to testing at the border (sometimes just paper work sometimes detailed testing that may take hours sometimes days or even weeks). the eu's unilateral actions in december involved adding us to the list of approved countries in regards to sanitary and phytosanitary standards so we can still export animals and animal products, however every consignment would have to be checked at border inspection posts (BIPs) and the pallets they are moved on will have to meet a certain standard and we dont have enough. these are barriers to trade, they arent punishing us its just what happens to third countries that dont have deals.
the worst part of all this is that may is trying (and failing) to keep trade in goods as frictionless as possible and completely forgetting about services which is where we do well. by leaving the single market lots of services that we supply from uk offices will necessarily have to be provided by offices located in the eu, our balance of payments is going to take a massive hit. |

shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry writes to Labour MPs, insisting JC mustn't agree to any deal without a referendum attached. "Yes, any deal agreed by Parliament must be subject to a confirmatory public vote, and yes, the other option on the ballot must be Remain."

Corbyn should be very careful here. The expert can kicker could tie him up in knots soon enough; House now closed, nothing planned over the weekend, no indicative votes Monday. When's the 12th again|?
