see how the 'freedom of the press' ruins peoples lives in nano seconds, but it's ok. as long as reynard's curiosity is satisfied lol.

My curiosity ? You may have noticed that ever since this 'story' broke I have stated on many occasions that I doubted the existence of any drone and suggested that this was possibly some sort of cover up in order to keep a far more serious incident out of the public domain . i may yet be proved to be correct on this , however , my only cuoisity is regarding how gullible the british public are when it comes to so-called official reports .

"there may have been no drone activity at all"

I think to many people have asked the question Laugh

So they are trying damage limitation and selling it off as a "hoax call" ffs CrySadLaugh

Its high time people started asking questions about how they always seem to sell it as a "hoax", YES! a hoax set up by them in the first place

So if there was no drone then why shutdown the airport?

"precaution" doesn't cut it here, if there's no sign of a drone then there's no reason to stop flights and shut down the airports for 36 hours?

Wasn't there another "drone sighting" that stopped flights for 30 minutes? so how come that "sighting" didn't shut down the airport for 36 hours?

I think its time people started asking obvious questions

The police could so easily have sent up one of their drones to help find the alleged "drone" that was supposed to be inflicting chaos to the holiday travelling public. At least than a definitive video could have been got. Could it have been a kite being flown at night that resemble a drone in the eyes of the inexperienced?

If no drone is found then those at Gatwick Airport not only will have eggs on their face (possibly by affected travellers) a trip to 'specsavers' would be advisable.

Entirely possible that they did , but failed to inform the authorities , hence the confusion LaughLaugh

Imagine this scenario : A middle-aged couple with mortgage arrears or other financial difficulties are offered the chance to have their mortgage / debts paid off in return for a 'favour' .
The favour ? Simply allow your identities to be revealed to the public via the media , whilst 'held in custody' in a plush hotel suite for 36 hours . Once your innocence has been confirmed to the world , the disruption to your lives will dissipate within a couple of weeks and you are then able to continue with your lives without the threat of repossession hanging over your heads . Have a happy Xmas Mr & Mrs , your government are truly grateful Blush

They supposedly found a drone near Gatwick?

The media reported on it earlier and now its vanished of their news headlines Laugh

One big mess they've got themselves into here, hence the sudden move away to a tsunami and Trump getting in a new defence chief Crazy

And now Birmingham airport is getting in on it to help them out a little Laugh

Birds of prey (and other sorts) are always flying about, presumably occasionally near airports.  They don't shut the fkg airport; they just plough straight through them.

Everything about this story stinks.  Feel so sorry for anyone affected.  Gatwick is an awful place at the best of times.  Inconvenient to get to no matter where you live, terrible transport links, overcrowded, treated like a terrorist to get through security, then forced to walk through the ghastly shopping areas only to be jammed into the zoo of the departure lounge.  Then when your gate comes up it's a half hour walk to some distant satellite hub.  And to make it worse, you have the reverse journey to look forward to on your return.   Being there for 2 hours is bad enough, but 36...Cry

Of course not Laugh

The media will be told to "move on" and all will be forgotten about

Its sad but that's been the way for 2 or 3 decades now, its only more noticeable because we have phones, laptops etc to get information from

Uh Oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Police have today been slammed for their 'appalling investigation' into the Gatwick chaos after they held a married couple for nearly two days without charge before admitting 'there may never have been a drone.'

Paul and Elaine Kirk-Gait returned to their home in Crawley, West Sussex this morning after spending more than 36 hours being questioned by detectives over the device that brought Gatwick Airport to a standstill.

As the culprit remains at large five days after the attack which grounded more than 1,000 flights and 14,000 passengers, police have been accused of failing to interview colleagues who could have vouched for the couple's whereabouts.

Friends and family repeatedly insisted the pair were not the 'Eco-warriors' behind the attack and claimed officers under pressure to get results 'hastily' arrested the wrong couple.

As Sussex Police this afternoon confirmed they have found a 'damaged drone' close to Gatwick, Detective Chief Superintendent Jason Tingley said there was 'no available footage and they are relying on witness accounts.'

Now in the old days we'd send up a Nimrod but as you know they have been decommissioned so we did the next best thing. We asked the local Scottish fisherman to have a look Crazy

What do you think is being covered up Reynard and why? i don't know , it's been well and truly buried under the biggest load of carp I've ever heard of .
It is however entirely possible that there was information received in relation to a major terror alert . The was a terror alert at a German airport at almost the same time which resulted in the German airport being put on shut down . With Brexit looming and the possibility of a second referendum (peoples vote) each and every major terror threat plays into the hands of Brexiteers and may have the effect of steering people more towards wanting out of the EU and taking back control of our borders . A majority of those who hold power within the establishment are Remainers (allegedly) and their prime objective is to block Brexit at all costs .
Before you all come down on me like a ton of bricks , the above is just an example of a motive . There are many more that are just as bizarre . But before you shoot me down in flames just think back over the last 3 days and ask yourself the following :-
Which bodies have been the peddlars of mistruths throughout this whole debacle ?
Where is the evidence to back up the reports ?
Why arrest and detain two apparently innocent people if not to shift the emphasis of the investigation away from its main location .
And most significantly (in my opinion) , why release a statement within the first hour of the shut down stating "This is not terror related" when , after 72 hours , they are still no nearer to identifying the 'perpetrators' , if indeed there are any 'perpretrators' ?
It was this statement that raised my suspicions on Friday morning and nothing that has unfolded subsequently has altered my view .

Was the "damaged" drone shown to the media? Surely, a vital piece of "evidence" or an (only) item connected with this debacle must be made available to the media and public for "support" and vindication. Or was it a story concocted to placate the public and validate their efforts in the search for the elusive drone.

nothing adds up with this story. most suspicious of all is the complete lack of questioning by the media at the time. noone ever went on record saying they'd seen a drone - the press didn't question this. there was no footage of the drone that never was - again no questioning from the media. the whole thing stinks to high heaven.

Probably because the media were briefed as to exactly what they could and what they couldn't report and what questions they were permitted to ask . Remember who controls the media MischiefMischief
