So why take a job if you aint willing to see it through when push comes to shove ?
Maybe there is a fault with their recruitment process Plain

You can’t expect individuals to put their lives at risk ..while at the same time the government is letting these animals into the country
Now can you ?

They happily take the pay cheque . Can't have it both ways surely ? Confused

Why not that’s how things are in this country , the ones responsible for this atrocity are getting well paid also

Individual police officers ? They are going to have to be armed

That again is the responsibility of the government , if they are not armed don’t expect them to do anything

That’s your decision

i use to have respect for the police officer in uniform, especially when they looked like a person of authority, nowadays, i look at some coppers and can't help laughing, skinny girls about 5 feet and 7 stone dripping wet, fat obese blokes who can't walk properly, let alone run, gay men who are scared of there own shadow, and ethnic officers who are in the job hoping someone will racially abuse them ,either from the public or fellow officers who joke about something that they find offensive, then they can sue the police and get a nice few quid and a fat pension..
sickening

So many would be heros on chit chat. Who would have thought it! Shocked

Most sat on here behind their keyboards 24/7 but when called upon against machete weilding knife men intent on murder
they'd all be in there like Chuck Norris in his prime, absolute genuis this place Laugh

Poor bait JD.

Ex Police chief Philip Flower has called Mackey a coward. Countless Rozzers have called on him to resign.

And yet you have a pop at chit chatters?
By:

So because an ex police chief calls him a coward it must be true then?
Going by most on here all the police do is lie, you can't have it both ways.

Not having a go as such just find it absolutely comical that so many on here claim they would do this and that sat behind their computers
in the comfort of their own homes. They might act a bit different if it actually happened but saying theyd probably freeze and do fk all as well
doesn't sound as good does it..

When's this Mackey fella going to be arrested ? It's my understanding that's it an offence not to help a copper when there being attacked !

Interesting debate on Breakfast T.V this morning former Metropolitan Police Officer Peter Bleksley calling Mackey's actions that Day utterly unforgiveable.

Bleksley said he would have been out of the car like a shot to help his fellow Officer.

Surely to God, if someone was being murdered in front of your very eyes you would do whatever it takes to save an innocent life?

The keyboard warrior thing aside, by whoever it was that posted that, I could not possibly watch someone being killed in front of me and not do something about it as best I could.

As a civilian yes maybe, we probably would all take a wtf moment but he is a fully paid up member of the force and did not react, poor  form imo and should  on reflection of his non action be very unhappy with himself...........

My initial gut reaction would have been one of instinct to save a life and would have put myself in danger, Sir Craig Mackey's decision to lock himself in the car and watch his colleague PC Keith Palmer being stabbed to death literally a few yards in front of him was one of a calculated cold hearted decision to look after his own safety ahead of anyone else.

"He recalled locking the doors of his chauffeur-driven car".

What did it for me was the line : 'I was in shirtsleeves, with no radio. We had no protective equipment. The way that the male came in, he was clearly a threat.'

Yeah and your mate was being carved up...

Going by most on here all the police do is lie,

Going by their own history of altering statements and fabricating evidence , eg. Hillsborough , Birmingham , Guildford etc etc etc , most on here would be correct .

I would have been far more likely to respect Mackey if he'd opened the door of his car and charged the assailant shouting "F... You , I'm Millwall" , although that sounds more like the action of a civilian during the London Bridge terrorist attack (who would be a far more deserving recipient of a knighthood) .

And who has since been demonised cos he uttered a racist slur. Big picture lost by the nonces!!

Larner should be rewarded. Probably the George Cross. I'd want Millwall on my side..

Injera, although I'm a Palace man I was at The Den on Saturday with a few mates to see them play Villa , who are Millwall through and through, and I'd bet my last quid any of them would have dived in to save PC Keith Palmer.

Slippy - I'd expect nothing less from Millwall or Palace..

Health and Safety blights our emergencies services and I can only imagine how frustrating that must be for most of them.

I agree the top cop could've and maybe should've done more.

However can the rest of the bullsh1t chuck norris civillian chit chat hero stuff just stop, it's embarrassing.

Lets look at the facts. Out of the numerous terror attacks in London/Paris Belguim etc where terrorists with knives or cars have attacked
all you see is hundreds upon hundreds of people running away screaming, and you couldn't blame them.
You will get the odd have a go hero as well no doubt but they are the total exception. We literally see 100's running for their lives
with maybe 1 or 2 to running the other way to help. Lets be generous and say 1/100 are have a go heros. Yet here in the bowels of the betfair forum on chit chat it's near 80/20 that would roll up the sleeves and get stuck in. Or even better than that if youre Millwall, then it's 100% of themto a man! As already said, writing tough guy hero stuff on here is 1 thing, actually doing it in the cold light of day when some lunatic is running at yet with a machete is another.

I'm just not having that it's 1% in real life but nearer the 80% mark on here. Absolute b0llocks

Is dambuster including the murdered police officer in his condemnation?
Or any of the other police officers killed doing their job?
People who put their lives at risk shouldn't be mocked.
No police = the end for us all.

I'm West Ham so my respect for this British Hero takes on an even greater significance . At the time he was openly praised by every member of the numerous WHU groups that I am associated with (and that includes the ICF) . National pride clearly overrides any tribal rivalries as has been seen in recent FLA/DFLA marches .

It may be worth taking into consideration that the vast majority of those targeted in such terrorist acts are families with children (Pop concerts , Christmas markets , Theatres and restaurants) therefore their natural reaction is to protect their loved ones and enable them to reach a place of safety . If they were to target a large group of males in their 20's / 30's I suspect we may see a different reaction .

They attacked London on a Friday night in the middle of all the bars and restaurants where there were 1000's of guys running the other way.
All the pictures were on the news and will still be there for all to see.
TBF 1 guy did have a go, a west ham fan iirc. All the Milwall fans mustve stayed in that night.

How selective . You choose to highlight the one terrorist attack , given the large number to choose from , with the lowest % of children present .
How about the Manchester Arena attack ? The majority of the men caught up in that atrocity were collecting their wives and daughters .
