Restrictions of free speech are on going, which is why people are having a go at Boris.
They're trying to shut up all criticism of Muslims by seeking to make an example of him.

They are indeed DrC, spot on.

there pleasegivemeanailedontip shows the obtuse way they think
He says no ones free speech is being taken away

And then goes on to say that Boris might lose his job

You see people like him don’t care , and they wouldn’t care if you lost your job either should you happen to say something he or someone else felt was offensive

That’s why you can’t trust people like that

If I went to Saudi, wearing a pinstripe suit, bowler hat and swinging a brolly, I imagine there would be a few remarks from the locals. Should I be offended?

If he gets kicked out of the conservatives all hell breaks loose, you, me and (im guessing) a huge majority of people will voice their discontent and sympathy for Boris, May will be toast, But we arent there yet are we.

The only people moaning at Boris are the people who always moan at Boris and nobody cared what they thought anyway. Nobody has been sacked yet, no one arrested, no one is being censored, no one is apologising. its just a political game where Boris intentionally risks his job to polarise opinion between him and May.

You see don’t be under any illusions about these people. They would be prepared fir you to lose your job possibly to ruin your life even for something trivial or perhaps not so trivial , whatever , if they felt they were offended in some way

I remember when I first started work in a factory on leaving school at 16,  many years ago
We had a foreman who was pretty ruthless and often swore etc , whatever
One day one of the workers had him by the neck pinned to the ground with one hand and a hammer in the other

The other men had to rush over and seperate them
It was a terrible shock   , the foreman dusted himself down and walked away

The next day work continued  , no one lost their job
Despite the fact that the foreman was a complete ****
I always admired him for that
By:
Reynard
When: 11 Aug 18 10:54
Which individual did you admire ? The hammer wielding worker or the foreman ?
Fair play to the worker for standing up to the bullying foreman without actually using the hammer and fair play to the foreman for taking it on the chin (not literally) and not grassing on the worker (my opinion)
Those were the days when men were men and disputes were settled in such a manner (my opinion)
By:

I admired the foreman , no one else ( admired the men of course for rushing over so quickly and separating them )

Now I am not going to be bothered to try to explain to you why Reynard

They silence discussion on these things in many countries now. But governments are not able to make people like things that they used to dislike, they are just making them bottle up their anger. This tactic will not end well.

He was about a foot taller than the foreman : )

Working on building sites back in the 80's there was very little Health & Safety . All you had were more experienced foremen calling you all the f'kin idiots under the sun to keep you straight . No one carried out risk assessments or filled in any forms . There was an accident book in the site office , the contents of which were often a source of entertainment Laugh

The motives behind this apology issue are clear enough.

The Tories calling for Boris to apologise, are simply trying to put him in a tight spot.

The ''offended'' are trying to get us all so afraid of stepping on their toes that we'll give them a free passage to do anything they wish without fear of challenge.
We see this in practise through the Asian grooming gangs who seem to have council workers in their pockets.

I say to hell with PC, and anyone who takes offence at generalisations such as the ones Boris used can go and cry in a corner.

The action of the police in various 'incidents' shows the political interest.  Note by the way the organisation Common Purpose.
The implication is if you speak out 'you will be investigated. The met alone has 900 on trawling the net for potential hate crime.  It tells you what their priorities are.
A senior copper told sky viewers that the reason you won't see many polis on the street is because they have switched to cyber and hate crimes. But many of the 'hate crimes' are reported but are included in statistics to make out it is rife.
You have to regard the demographic in Landan to understand where the pressure comes from.  Particularly to be seen to be politically correct.  This is very dangerous.
Forget what is going on at street level.

It is all about frightening people into silence.  Does this ring a bell?

That's their game alright moisok.

We have to be careful on here as well. Somebody I was chatting to recently pulled out in passing some stuff I wrote on here nearly three years ago.
Now he's either got a photographic memory and knew where to find it, or he'd already got it written down in front of him.

But probably just a fanatic if the truth's known.

Taj Hargey interview: ‘The burka is a fifth column... we will wake in the Islamic Republic of Britain’

Taj Hargey, the Oxford imam and scholar who robustly defended Boris Johnson in the row over burkas this week, has a habit of asking vivid questions and then answering them himself with a punchiness that makes the former foreign secretary seem timid and colourless.

“Do you think that these Wahhabis, Saudis and other extremists are going to be content with the burka and niqab?” he asks. “No! [The burka] is a fifth column, it’s a Trojan horse. They are going to bring other forms of Sharia down the pike. This is not the end of the story.

So we should force people to dress a certain way because it upsets some people. Some woman going about her business, not doing any harm to anyone but because some incontinence pad-wearing retired major is a little put off by not being able to fully look her up and down she should be forced to change?

Don't know why people are so worried about sharia law when they want to re-badge it.

It is determintal to their health as well actually.

So's smoking. So's drinking. So's eating crisps. So's sitting on your arse watching telly. So's getting your blood pressure up getting angry at what some complete stranger you've never met before in your life is choosing to wear.
