Once the witch hunt started, he must have known his position was untenable. Unequivocal support from the team, and a 6-0 opening win, are no match for the the kick it out team once they start their crusade.

i'm pretty sure he isnt racist, but clearly lacks a bit of tact he probably thinks he is being funny, some folk will take to him and others will not...he had a nice job, and was doing a decent job of improving the team. football teams and clubs are notorious for infighting and his lack of experience of that has probably let him down. the last manager was supposedly hounded out by some players husband and i wonder if there might be some settling of scores going on? |
|
By:
Agreed donny. I doubt many managers have this 'tact' you speak of!
I thought the response from the players after the first goal was telling. Sampson was clearly moved. I know of a previous England Women cricket coach who had all kinds of problems. Players getting off with each other and the oppo as well. It was an impossible situation and he left. The media kept silent for obvious reasons. |

Mark Sampson has been sacked as England women's manager following evidence of "inappropriate and unacceptable" behaviour in a previous role.
The Football Association says it has only just been made aware of details of the allegations made against Sampson when he was Bristol Academy boss. A 2015 FA safeguarding assessment found Sampson did not pose a risk. Sampson was also cleared this year of wrongdoing following discrimination allegations made by England players. The 34-year-old Welshman became England head coach in December 2013 after leaving his role as manager of top-flight side Bristol Academy, now renamed Bristol City Women. The FA said safeguarding allegations were made a year later, but "the full report of that investigation was only brought to the attention of the current FA leadership last week". The statement added: "It is our judgement that it revealed clear evidence of inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour by a coach. It is on this basis that we have acted quickly to agree a termination ^^^bbc again |

This whole affair reeks of indignation and perceived discrimination, where will it end ? We will be unable to appoint anyone to a position of authority before long and the only people who put up for it will be fantasists without ability.Anyone with intelligence will avoid high profile jobs like the plague.

treetop there must be standards
the fa appointed him, defended him, now sack him as they hadnt read his file correctly.......really? was the independant lawyer who cleared him given sight of this file ? is it safe to employ him elsewhere now they have cast doubt onhis character getting sacked for being a bit tactless would be easily overcome, but now who knows? |

She was paid to be quiet ahead of the Euros. That's not an admission of guilt, just a pragmatic decision for the preparations to be unhindered by daft accusations.
As others have said, once the lobbyists got their anti white teeth into this there was only one outcome. Next manager will be black or female or both. |

£80,000 freal!
I wouldn't sack the person who signed the cheque I would shoot them! |

parliament still looking to question the fa, that should be very interesting

True!
metaphorically I meant! But £80,000! When I was at school I saw a kid get battered for a penny! Claret everywhere! £80,000! Although to be fair after you have had a couple of winners on Betfair perhaps it isn't that much unless of course you are on £7.20 an hour or whatever it is! |

Lucky I wasn't about to board a Bryan Air flight! Could have been arrested and made to peel potatoes!

An awful mess of a situation that doesn't reflect well on anybody. I don't particularly like Sampson, but I find myself feeling a bit sorry for him. The spiteful way that this player has attempted to ruin his career is pretty distasteful, and the FA have a lot to answer for as well, imo.

By:
why did she wait so long to report what happened? surely you lose all credibility by doing that
I agree about the fact that the Ebola quote is a geographical thing and nothing to do with race. It never fails to amaze me how people don't seem to understand racism, and just think that if something derogatory is said about someone who just happens to be black, then that is racist, even though it was nothing to do with their race there was an Ebola outbreak in Nigeria at the time, it's a country, most of the people that live there happen to be black |

An article in our local paper claims she is upset that the actions ofthe other team mates undermined her position ! Perhaps that should tell her she may need to be more of a team player instead of being divisive. When the rest of the team showed the coach appreciation it spoke more than the words they were probably too scared to utter in case it sparked yet more hurt feelings.

If you are at work it is important to record everything that is said, don't let anyone know but it would protect you from false allegations of racism.
It is particularly important to have counter evidence of things that have been said by the accuser in the past . |

As I said in my 16:01 post yesterday, another cover up by the F.A. They knew about Sampson, just like they knew about the coaches within football assaulting youth players but chose to cover it up hoping the full extent would never come to light. F.A. are corrupt and not fit for purpose.

When you say they knew about Sampson, knew what? He was cleared of any wrongdoing whilst working at the Bristol Academy. So that's 3 enquiries that have cleared him.
He's also been told he's free to seek other employment within football. This development speaks volumes about the FA and 'white shaming'... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-41337127 A "Super White Army" banner was covered up during an England football match after a picture of it was shared online by one of the team's top players. The sign at Tranmere Rovers' ground was obscured by the FA for the Lionesses' World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, hours after Lucy Bronze shared it online. Her post received criticism and praise. Tranmere Rovers Supporters' Club said it did not know why it was covered, adding it was "not remotely racist" and referred to their team's shirts. The FA confirmed it took down the banner at Prenton Park but said it would be making no further comment. Classic! |

The strip is white.....right ?
|
|
By:
they dont complain about us chanting black and white army
even though some of our supporters are nither black nor white because it refers to our strip ... i think folk are looking in the the wrong place, and i look forward to seeing the fa explain all this to the parliamentary enquiry. |

By:
He didn't get sacked for bullying or racism. Infact he was cleared some might even say vindicated.
He didn't break the law. Some might say he has grounds for an unfair dismissal claim particularly if you can sue your Employer if you trip over a crisp packet! Shirley he has good grounds for a compo claim? I am glad he has gone! There is still so much more to come out here! This is set to run and run. He is not the only villain here. He might be the pantomime villain but there are others who need to find an honest occupation. |
|
By:
He may have breached coach/player relations. In other words he may have slept with a player whilst at Bristol. He was not sacked and was in fact deemed worthy of promotion.
The point is the Despicable FA have dug into his past (4 years ago!!) to appease the anti wayycists re Aluko's wafer thin pedantry. The removal of the banner the other night sums up the fear large organisations have of the wayycist card. |

Martin Glenn, the Football Association’s heavily criticised chief executive, faces further embarrassment after admitting the organisation deliberately chose a black woman to investigate the Mark Sampson race allegations – without apparently realising the FA’s lawyers had already sent a letter to the Guardian warning such a claim was “plainly false”.
Unbelievable....or maybe not! |

I believe if someone from the UK went to Africa it would be far more appropriate for someone to say 'Don't bring any of that racism and bigotry over here !'

That would be because they have an abundance of it themselves between the various tribes, religions and nations within Africa.
