So the English Queen who has been most loyal to England is also wrong for trusting in God.
|
|
By:
I am glad the English Queen believes in the Christian God.
|
|
By:
If there is a God ...why won't he give The Queen immortality ?
|
|
By:
....because he/it has no power.....because he/it does not exist.

By:
That goes for any supposed deity.

We are all God's children and even the most Holy Spirit cannot reach some souls who refuse his Love.
To answer your question , imagine Gods only son after all the torture humans put him through... In his most pain he still yelled, forgive them Father for they now not what they do... God loves all of is and he is alpha and omega. Because he loves you he wants you to return and glorify him. |
|
By:
Could you forgive people who tortured you for no wrong doing ? And at the point of them killing you forgive ?
Love - anyone can love. Even a pe Forgive - very few have that in them. That is what God looks for. |

'I don't gamble'
Then if you don't mind me asking, why would you join up with a gambling website The Leopard? |
|
By:
Also, I'm pretty sure gambling isn't a sin.
If it is, God is a bit of a hypocrite because he took a gamble when he created this world. |
|
By:
As Zorro pointed out earlier in this thread. Gambling is not mentioned in the Bible or the 10 commandments.

sins are forgiven, if you take the free pardon. if you don't accept God's GIFT you are judged. simples.
Isaiah foretold Christ in great detail 700 years before he existed. Daniel foretold Christ and his coming 500 years before he came to the day. Sir Robert Anderson, KCB (29 May 1841 – 15 November 1918), was the second Assistant Commissioner (Crime) of the London Metropolitan Police, from 1888 to 1901. He was also an intelligence officer, theologian and writer. He investigated Daniel's prophecy and Daniel's dates match with Christ's entry into Jerusalem. how do you get round that if you are an atheist? the old testament is sealed. 250 years before Christ - translated by Ptolemy the second into Greek(the Septuagint copy) no time machines available??? dead sea scrolls uncovered complete isaiah scroll dated 200 bc. Christ changed the world with his words and actions. ![]() ![]() new madrid |

Proverbs 16:18.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Isn't it how funny Wane Rooney and Brad Pitt with all their financial wealth , health and talent both lack one thing... They could have anything they desire ....... I truly hope they both realise it's not everyone else who is the problem .. It's in fact themselves. But as The Lord Jesus Christ said... Matthew 7:13-14 The Narrow and Wide Gates 13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. |

I like what my priestvsaid to me...
God sits and watches and doesn't react. He stiffen's a person's heart and allows them to continue doing wrong. He waits... And he waits.... Giving that person every opportunity to open their heart and turn away from that life. And he waits even longer... Then finally he loses patience with them because he can see their true intentions and takes action. And when he turns their life upside down they still can't see what they've done wrong. |
|

That reminds me of a great poster I once saw at an exhibition which I bought and hangs in my hallway.
[ This image is no longer available. ] Google, "the broad and narrow way poster" for more infos and better, closer views. |

I really hope the greatest find for many years is true.
The Biblical Seal of King Solomon. It's believed to be a gift from God with much power. Hitler and his crazy mob would have given anything to have that item. |

Where was your God in Vegas ? Don't cast pearls at swine................... |
|
By:
I hope I am not speaking out of turn here.
Humans are a falling race and many do not fear their heavenly Father. Some call the city of Vegas .... The city of sin. Please tell me if I am speaking wrongly. So an Evil person with no apparent motive suddenly does a wicked spiteful thing.... There is an old Jewish saying from days long before any huge cities were built.... " Out of the wicked comes wickedness.’ God allows evil for his own reason and doesn't have to ever justify himself to humans. |

Why do so many people on this forum that keep talking about unelected bureaucrats in Brussels just blindly accept obedience to a totally unelected God? What with this defeatism and choosing to be ruled by such an unelected bureaucrat with a knack for slaughter? Get up and campaign for Goxit.
It's time to rise and create a world in which we are ruled by a God that is elected by the people and answers to the people! A God that can and will be made accountable for his actions. |
|
By:
correct - God does not have to justify himself to any man.
man's sewer morality speaks for itself. dragon meteors on its way. |

All the contrivances come down to a single point.
A question. That is whether you believe free will actually exists or not, and that the decisions you make which are the difficult option are acts of implied devinity, or actually virtuous. For me I see every decision a human makes as being influenced by some form of coercion, and that decisions made for 'good' are actually sacfrificial acts based on the common indoctrination of community. You could argue that your mind isnt anything more than a collection of experiences built upon the teaching of your parents. IE you are just the product of the environment in which your mind was moulded (and desires of others). |

By:
The outcome of everything can be seen through a series of logic gates.
If you eat something that you like the taste of yet upsets the gut in your stumach, who actually decides whether you eat that food again? You or the bacteria in your gut? |

you say you do 'good', christianity says all fall short. God says all your good deeds are like filthy rags.
the Gospel is Jesus is risen, by his sacrifice alone you are cleansed. nothing any man does as an action can buy your way into heaven. the good outweighing the bad scenario that you paint Dusty is Egyptian. Ra would be proud. |

choose Christ

I rather suspect you are well meaning Zorro but its just such a ridiculous suggestion.
That accepting or not accepting a story to be true is the whole determining factor that carries such weight. Whether Jesus lived in the form they suggest and died in sacrifice or whether he didnt is either true or false, neither of these factors being impacted by whether I believe the story or not. Like I said, what 'we' choose in life is determined by an array of imponderables, most of which are beyond our control, Id love to know which bit of 'us' is the bit in the 'free' of 'freewill'. |
|
By:
'It is alledged that Jesus is the way, and personally I cant rule it out'
what would that get me? |
|
By:
Re the opening question. I know very few people who are 'against religion' in general. Even if most people think it a bit daft, they are happy to let it be, as it does not impact their own lives. People will be 'against' any particular religion which does impact on their own lives though, this is quite a natural reaction I would think.

We are asked to believe a 2000 year old story with more than enough inconsistencies to make a fantasy writer blush. This in support of a deity who cannot be perceived through any of our senses and persistently hides under his stone allowing the most awful atrocities imaginable to occur uncontested.
Is it any wonder that fewer and fewer people take such belief seriously. |
