Dusty Bin's throwing up of the story of the tower of Babel has made me read the original text again with a critical eye.
It doesn't say they were trying to reach heaven,it says they were trying to reach the heavens, to make a name for themselves. Again the meaning looks like it was twisted by Hollywood - the John Huston film i think has caused a lot of confusion. same reason in building large towers today - look at us we are the people. we have the knowledge to do this... the power, etc. trying to reach heaven is a spurious interpretation. the people were building a Ziggurat- a tower built for the purpose of worship of the heavens? just doesn't fit. one commentary says - The descendants of Noah had not obeyed the commandment of God to fill the earth. Rather than spreading out as God had ordered, they settled in the land of Shinar-a fertile land watered by the Tigris and Euphrates river. Once the people reached this plain in Babylon, they started a massive building project. The city was built in defiance of God's commandment. The building of a city would establish a unified front against God by preventing a scattering. These descendants of Noah had been disobedient to the call of God. |

three pyramids - the fallen angels landed on mount Hermon a three peaked mountain.
A UN base is maintained up there. It's been said that the pyramids were a recreation of that event to please the Gods(fallen Angels). Jesus supposedly had the transfiguration at Mount Hermon(meaning ‘sanctuary’).the book of Enoch is mentioned in the bible but I avoid it as it's not in the final cut? It describes in depth the relationship of the fallen angels and enoch and god. |

Not human teeth, animal pointy teeth...the teeth of a beastie or perhaps satan. I don't recall God mentioning the use of steel and Tarmac either in the bible so that's clearly Satan too. And what of the structure itself, there was a passage of water there for a reason, God put it there so people couldnt traverse so easily from land mass to land mass, so that is built clearly to carry the message of Satan. any activity can tip into excessive and become a tool to manipulate
you into doing evil. elite athletes can end up taking steroids to beat their opposition? a once a night glass of wine can take you into alcohol abuse. gambling can easily tip into a darkside. don't invest your self too much in it? just a few coins. |

I made a point about chicken and pork earlier, thank yoiu for your answers btw but the point was not that God decreed it bad but man knew already that eating pork in the Middle east was a dangerous thing to do. It was not God inspired!
Pork is eaten in colder countries without too much problem. It is nothing to do with religion or " God ". |

Not really obsessed with pork tbh my only concession to the God Complex is a good friend of mine said her dad would say " if God made a sweeter meat than pork he kept it to himself " and I concur with that opinion even though I don't believe in God. My point, which, neither you or the other fellow batting on your side seem to grasp is that cultural influences are deemed to be God inspired. For example the thing about women wearing head coverings in the Middle East has very little to do with religion as much as cultural stigma. I remember going to Church and women wore veils. This is quite rare now. Ignorance and lack of education keep people in fear. SO are we in agreement now that the true God is not Allah because it is obviously ok to eat pork, prawns and oysters now days? |

It's like all false beliefs called RELIGION. they are there to control people. Like the LAW and Politicians. Jesus was not about control, he was about freeing you from the law, It would no longer be relevant to those that believed in him. Because he doesn't want us chasing the things of this world. The world is God's enemy, it's ruled by satan and it belongs to him. It's about trying to survive what the world throws at you. So many religions have this core of being in tune with the world. Fk the world. Save yourself. your soul is behind enemy lines. the world is not your friend unless you side with it. Jesus is disposing of the world once the full harvest is reaped. It's souls that are important not a temporary globe. |

Ok we are making progress here. It is ok to eat pork, prawns or beef. God does not care. Religion is ok but man is bastardising it for it's own ends? So man has been creating God in his own image.
Maybe we should ban religious brain washing at schools? Religious Schools should be banned? Church and State should be seperated? The Religion of this great Country is predicated on the fact that a King wanted to shag someone younger, prettier and more fertile! |

Most people will reject the God of organised religion but not the real God. Just a question of separating the 2 as Bell explains. I've yet to meet one atheist who would prefer a UK that was NOT influenced by the christian reformation going back 100s of years. We of course hugely benefit from this today. My mother died in a hospice. The hospice movement was founded by the great Dame Cicely Saunders who only died in 2005. Her faith inspired the incredible work which we take for granted today... |

he clearly set a time limit in the bible. 6000 years till it was completed. 1000 years added on for the millennial kingdom. a plan of 7000 years. So - to disprove God - wait a few more years. To prove God - calculate the years in the bible. This is the right time. God gave us 120 jubilee years.(x 50yrs one jubilee) Jesus was not wrapping it up in 1517, because that's 110 jubilee years. So science says we may never have the answers, never ending search for truth. God says - lads you have 6000 years. then the answers will be given. It's an examination paper called faith. Those that fail don't go higher up. |

Well, there are only four of any import, 6,7,8 and 9. I think most decent people know they are wrong and don't need a god to tell us that. Commandments 1,2,3,4 are just describing a narcissistic god and only have relevance to religiously submissive types 5) People do that instinctively if their parents merit it, not all parents do. 10) This Is repetition of 6,7,8 and 9 "don't even think about it" is the message. Why not call them the four commandments and eliminate the dross? |
