*Beckham ffs

By:
I think he's capable of some action.
Maybe short of attacking the US but could still trigger a response from the Donald. |
|
By:
It will be interesting if he conducts the anticipated test this weekend. If he does, hes not just a bluffer and as stupid as perceived as senior US officials are stating the US will cruise missile them.
|
|
By:
We have Trump and Kim Jong-un with their fingers on the button. Don't Panic !
On a more serious note this could soon spiral out of control, and both of them are mentally unstable. |

If and it's a big If America attack NK they must have the prior agreement of China or else the world will end up in another Vietnam type conflict ...the solution might be to nuke the country at the outset.
|
|
By:
This is interesting in that its potentially the first conflict where a nuclear attack is almost a certainty in case of war. If NK only has a dozen of them and the americans know where, then of course its one way traffic. But if not and Kim can fire one towards South Korea, rest assured North Korea will be toast.
|
|
By:
The Americans do have a first strike capability which would knock North Korea out before middle is released by them. However the radiation will knock out South Korea, Japan and most dangerously China.

I listened to a Podcast:
http://www.radiolab.org/story/nukes/ It appears that there is NO chain of command for the big red button. If Donald presses it then NOBODY will stop those nukes being launched. Scary. |
|
By:
Well i make that 2-1.
Come on ye feckers VOTE! |
|
By:
Would still have to be verified by the captain of a sub etc
|
|
By:
Sorry Guinness for my money the Donald will attack first

Listen to the Podcast, really interesting.
It mentions subs and I wasn't paying full attention but I think they need 2 keys that have to be turned simultaneous so no 1 person can create a nuclear war without a chain of command. There is fail safes to stop 1 person nuking and there is also fail safes if 1 refuses to turn the key but where it breaks down is the President. He can nuke anyone and anywhere he likes with no authorisation. All his orders must be obeyed. Not his fault, this goes back to the creation of nuclear weapons. |
|
By:
I thought you can only use nukes in self defence.
|
|
By:
Who do you think I am Guinness?
I'd say no war, just saber rattling from 2 maniacs. |
|
By:
I have friends in S Korea, so I seriously hope not! Trump accused Clinton of being a warmonger. Let's hope he - or someone around him - knows what they are doing.

My bruv is living in S Korea, I'll email and see what kind of fuss is going on, if any.

Talk about blowing things out of proportion.. |

I think you'll find that's "Blowing things UP out of all proportion "

There's an awful lot of American ex-pats in South Korea too. North Korea can't fire nukes at the US they don't have the capability , not sure why people are suggesting otherwise. My concern is Trump will choose a 'minimal' targeted attack at one of NK test sites. "Lets send them a warning"....the retaliation from NK would be where things could go mad.....maybe some missiles at US sites in South Korea....as per Chinese foreign minister no going back once it starts.
The US would be wise to let any test pass and find another way (lean on China). |
|
By:
My bruv seems quite unconcerned, tho he is quite meditanional.
"I have no idea. I have no access to Korean news in English. I only found out about the Korean president resigning via the BBC. Life goes on here normally and my only contact with the world at large is the fluctuating prices of fruit and vegetables." |
|
By:
The US knows it would have to be a multi strike attack to neutralise North Koreas missile sites
|
|
By:
350,000 land mines in the DMZ. It's the main reason won't sign up to a treaty banning them, they no they can't stop the North Koreans going walk'a'bout without them

I think the message that Trump wanted to send out was that N Korea's missiles could be taken out with conventional munitions, if necessary. Supposing that they know where they are, of course. Whether Trump needed to do this is a moot point, now. If Jong Un is as mad as we believe him to be, who knows how he will react. Of course the fact that the MOAB was aimed at mountainside in Afghanistan, rather than at Pyongyang, suggests that North Korea won't feel too affronted by it. Let's hope so, anyway.
