I am strangely sad to relate that reports of our imminent inundation were exaggerated.

Seen the tide a little higher once or twice before, but we have had lots of work done here on sea defences since the last time we got flooded.

FWIW, the river in full spate and being blown around by a vigorous westerly was a stirring sight.
