they don't need us

they have been ****footing around

anyone with even a slight knowledge of military matters know this could all have been dealt with but they have held back

a dozen aircraft a day doesn't do it

the russians have panicked the west by going in and really stepping it up and left the west holding their thumbs

watch out for the USA and turkey's ambitions here

turkey have already invaded bits of northern turkey and support daesh as have the usa etc

Done my bit. Too old now.
ISIS are the biggest threat to European values in modern history. They need culling.

And this ' culling ' will be effective by dropping bombs from 39,000 feet ?

If boots are to be used...then France should have the greatest motive after Paris

They could have the French Foreign Legion leading the way, the rest behind, helicopter gunships, the lot

Of course this will expose them even further to IS terrorism.....but we are going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point

Any of our lads fancy it, join the Legion on a temporary basis, 6 weeks basic training to get them in shape, and a French phrase

book, give them an assault rifle and grenades  they are in business, remember Jihadi John should keep them at it

This is the new kind of politics we were promised under Jeremy Corbyn is it?

If you are putting British Servicemens lives at risk

I know a few in the army and they cant wait to go to Syria to take on IS

I'm all for it. Just as soon as someone gives a well thought out and logical reason for it. Until then it's a no. In the meantime they can clear up our own streets and deport the nutters.

The trouble with boots on the ground...is if we not get a quick victory

and we become bogged down in a never ending unwinnable war

This is a very difficult problem we have here...no easy answers

I agree alleged there will plenty in the army up for this...after all it is their job
By:

sort the nutters out in the caliphate and those on our streets will come to heel.

ebul it is a winnable war though, were talking about brain washed kids from Bradford and Marseille, slap a kaleshkinov in their arms does not make them an army, see a jet and hide anyone can do that, crazy

"The Prime Directive is not just a set of rules. It is a philosophy, and a very correct one. History has proven again and again that whenever mankind interferes with a less developed civilization, no matter how well intentioned that interference may be, the results are invariably disastrous." Jean-Luc Picard

Admittedly the captain has a few hundred more years of hindsight to work with, compared to our politicians.

I'm not too familiar with the terrain in the area but the difficulty with taking on The Taliban was the vast mountain ranges and the ease with which they could slip into Pakistan via a compliant military there. Does Syria afford ISIL similar protection? If not then it would be an even easier gig than taking out Saddam's "army". As always it would be the post conflict rebuilding which would cause the problem as these so called warriors filled their pants and dispersed only to regroup and engage in guerrilla tactics.

We have to find them alleged...

One problem is if Russia sends in 150,000 troops to fight IS, then any land they liberate inn Syria will go straight back under Assad

I don't think we want this, so we have two enemies....I do not think our leaders know what to?

That gives us some hope eternal, you are suggesting a quick victory is possible

However bongo is the voice from the future it appears...so he already knows how this has turned out

If even half the allegations against Turkey are true they can f themselves.

Apparently IS are making a lot of money selling oil. I'm sure Britain would know if we'd a constant stream of oil tankers coming across our borders, as is the allegation. They don't sprout wings or use 100 mile long tunnels, to get to somewhere useful they have to cross land.

I was very annoyed at Russia over the Ukraine but Turkey, our "ally" seem worse. The picking a fight with Russia knowing we'll be stupid enough to back them up is like watching a little chav who has a big mate, mouthing off.

Because we against Russia xmoneyx....this is a very complicated game, politics and war are

I think think politicians are up to this myself

I would prefer Assad to win in Syria because I think it is the only way they will get peace
Although I would not expect him to carry out reprisals..Russia would need to pressure him there
I also trust Putin far more than our own leaders......he wrestles bearsLaugh

Only boots on the ground will solve it. But all the shíthouses of NATO don't want to know because they're all scared of losing their own voters and consequently power. Nothing to do with losing the lives of the military, since when have governments been bothered about that? They are all cannon fodder when it suits them.

A suitable mixed army of many nations built on %s of each countries armed forces, would suffice. Squash DAESH and whoever else gets in the way (hopefully Turkey) from all sides til the pips squeak. Then sort out the politico.

And for all the apologists and cowards, more lives would actually be saved by doing this rather than constant allied bombing and mass murder and ethnic cleansing by the ruling abduls.
