... I hope Diane's parachutes works otherwise there would be a great big splat and the UK would end up at the war crimes court in the Hague accused of carpet bombing Raqqa... Shocked

Do they do parachutes in her size? Confused

Immigration from OUTSIDE the UK was 190 000 for the year up to June.

Bad enough letting people from Europe in but to let in peeps from further afield strikes me as rather foolish.

For all the 'no' voters what is your solution? Just do nothing? Talk about it for a few years? Come on wake up ffs.

Do you think Russia, France and the US needs Britain's help in Syria? Britain has 50 manned jets available for Syria at most, Russia has twice that many already committed and the US has carried out over 50000 sorties in Iraq and Syria of which over 8000 resulted in bombs being dropped. What would you hope to achieve by bombing ISIS in Syria?

My original answer was bombs and boots.
What's your answer?

let Russia and Assad sort it out

Well I must say that's a pretty limp wristed reply. Believe it or not the situation is impinging on the UK (and rest of Europe) in a big way.

This is the new kind of politics we were promised under Jeremy Corbyn is it?

If you are putting British Servicemens lives at risk, you have to have a party completely united in their belief to either send them in or keep them out.

What you can't have is a division of any kind.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you our Opposition Party

You think that will change by bombing Syria?

Bombs AND boots.

I don't believe boots is up for voting at this stage. Russia is already preparing to send 150,000.

Every European country should do the same (on a smaller scale of course). It's our problem as much as their's.

Instead of bombs and boots hows about bums and boobs?

Carpet bomb the jihadist strongholds with unsold copies of Escort and Razzle and let them dispense their own justice to their members that can't resist having a sly look.

That's why we are bombing ISIS in Iraq

I must have missed something here themover. What is it you are saying? I thought we were talking about bombing ISIS?
By:

You suggested that the problem was as much ours as theirs, implying that we aren't doing anything against ISIS. I pointed out we are already bombing ISIS in Iraq, and hence are doing our bit whether or not we bomb ISIS in Syria as well.

I doubt our politicians want Russian troops there, they would secure Syria for Assad

It is strange how Russian bombing sorties against ISIS get very little news coverage. Reports are that they have obliterated 450 ISIS targets in just 3 days.

We may have to give N.Iraq to IS with conditions, if we don't beat them soon

that's true ebul, been bombing them there for over a year. Surely if there are more resources available to bomb Syria it would be better finishing the job off there.

There is some confusion here, at least for me there is.

Should we bomb Syria was the OP's question? If we can rephrase that to should be bomb ISIS in Iraq and/or Syria then what would you say?

Bomb ISIS is what I really mean. And send in troops.

The Commons vote (likely next week) will be on whether or not Britain should bomb ISIS in Syria (in addition to the current activities of bombing ISIS in Iraq)

This report from a reporter who spent time with ISIS about a year ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFNVU2TyJF0 was interesting. He says that bombing alone will not be effective. Things may have changed since then of course.

I'd like some twát with balls to actually send a carrier pigeon to Mons and to ask why the holY phuck are the Ottomans part of NATO? The bath lovers are supporting Daesh while other NATO countries bomb them. They are buying oil from Daesh when other NATO countries are bombing the lorries that carry it to; guess where? Yep, that's right, Ottoman land. Erdogan wants to revitalise the Ottoman empire, so of course he's with Daesh, why can't no other twáts in power see this? To be fair, Pootin hinted at it yesterday but even he won't say it publicly. He's just píssed off he lost a bomber..

The Turks are bastards: and i trust them less than Daesh. At least when Daesh bastards say they're going to do something they are up front. The Ottomans will back skuttle every phucker. I hope Pootin bombs the **** out of them..

Starting a war with Turkey will hardly help...we need less war not more

Everyone has their own interests you see, and if this goes on long enough all Sunni Muslims will end up supporting ISSad

We always stick with our own

If that is for me guiness I suggest you do the same

It is easy to solve this problem

The United States have the biggest army in the World and the best weapons

So we tell them to put bombs and boots in the M.East...they would finish IS within a month

They started our interference in the M.East, so why not let them finish it

Simples problem solved

Our own leaders are gutless and clueless the way we allow the United States to use us

the yanks havent really been going after isis in syria because they want isis to be strong enough to keep the assad regime destabilized. think about that for a second. the whole situation is a mess, a few more bombs from the uk are hardly going to make much difference either way. they will though make us an even bigger target for the nutjobs.

as treetop said, when are we going to start bombing turkey and saudi arabia?

ebulgery our leaders like to pretend that we are still a super power. the fact that we dont have the troops or money to do anything by ourselves seems to be irrelevant. it was embarrassing to see blair lick up to bush. i'm sure in opposition cameron initimated that he would not be getting involved in any foreign missions but once he became pm he was just as reckless as blair. as i said before the usa dont want to destroy isis.
