Mobo,
In UK, one week they're logistics in RAF dealing with BAeS, then pay-off, then next week they're freelancing on, err, BAeS project. |

treetop's made a very interesting point, re: Assad.
Bombing - awful, in general. But is there a viable alternative in the eyes of the government? And the argument that it would only create more hate is a bit weak - how could "they" hate the west any more than they do now? |
By:
Well my view isn't that they would 'hate' us more, it's that it gives them more excuse to commit atrocities. Not they need any mind, but their brain dead juniors will follow in droves..

I love the USA.
admiral retires goes to mcdonalds ha ha mcdonald douglas, admiral goes into politics sits on arms committees etc etc etc it is so funny and so obvious admiral in senate whips up fear of the old bear (I am back in cold war era now haha)(i it went on and still goes on scare stories - whip it up whip it up putin going to bomb us - we need more fighters, rockets, and lets fill turkey with weapons to counter the russians (but then this was the case in the old ussr days) |

It is in the economic interest (amongst other interests) to maintain a semi-war state.

No.
The main protagonists disagree about who should be running the country. Until those differences have been resolved we should stay out. |

Yes. Nuke them (Just to keep Mikael happy)

Looks like Labour split 50-50 and Cameron close to getting parliaments support.
Needs a ground offensive imho. |
By:
can you imagine letting the 'moderate' rebels loose in damascus!!?? Probably 3 to 3 1/4 percent worse than daesh.

Voting on whether or not we should join the campaign to bomb Syria is like voting on whether we should join in Vietnam. Bonkers.

Whatever (mis)adventures that various Western Allies pursue in or above Syria, it will mean precisely nothing if we continue to pursue the same idiotic and self-destructive policies at home, whereby terror is allowed to flourish, aided and abetted by a voracious 'Human Rights for Criminals, Especially if They Are Foreign' industry.
The Enemy Within has to be identified and taken out of circulation. That shouldn't be too difficult. After all, a staggering 27% of just 1000 polled (for example) said they had some sympathy for the motives behind the Charlie Hebdo Massacre. The hatred ISN'T hidden. One other common sense policy which must be introduced in the UK (and preferably rolled-out across the entire EU) is to prevent any further Peace-Lovers entering the UK. A grand total of precisely ZERO further "Refugees" should therefore be accepted into the UK. (I know this means that at least one Human Tragedy on Chit Chat won't have anyone else in his house to pull a Christmas Cracker with this year, but that's a small price to pay). ISIL were as good as their word when they informed us they would flood Europe with Jihadists via the Pretendy Refugee route, as evidenced in the latest Paris Massacre. Any moron advocating Sight Unseen Mass Acceptance of "Refugees" into Europe should, for example, have to apologise to the families of the November 2015 Paris victims, and to the women of Magdeburg (and umpteen places elsewhere) who have been raped by gangs of "Refugees". They have blood on their hands. Such people are truly ISIL's Useful Idiots. |

Guy on QT summed it up well. Pull the draw bridges up and attack the enemy within.

Bomb them all and let God sort them out.

By:
no .

By:
no

By:
I will qualify that a bit, if bombing destroys IS completely, then maybe yes
But if it does not then all we have done is make ourselves even more of a terrorist target? |

Bomb them all and let God sort them out. what do you mean all you mean kill everybody in Syria a definite NO from me |
By:
alan2005
So we kill all the Muslims in our own country.....NO again from me Of course we were very silly to let them all in, but that is rather our own fault it is a bit late to keep them out now I am sorry to say |
By:
Somebody needs to win in Syra....it does not matter which side
Unless an agreement can be reached for demarcation The present never ending civil war is the worst possible result No strong government, no law and order, atrocities and killing will just continue on and on... |

There are hundreds of thousands of young men coming to Europe as refugees. They should be conscripted and sent back to Syria as part of a European army, led by Germany, France and Britain.
Any who refuse to do their duty will forfeit their right to live in Europe. |
By:
no bombing but troops on the ground so NO.
but of course its going to happen |
By:
we are going to bomb them to kill them so that they cant come to this country and try to kill us,so why arent we killing the ones that are already here because we know that eventually there will be a attack in this country and then just like france we will be told that they were on the radar and had been looked into

There would be more 'friendly' fire incidents than a Chicago ghetto on crack.. |
By:
^^^ if that is the case why are they being let into Europe. If they are not prepared to do their duty by Europe and Syria.
By:
Ye best ask Oberst-Gruppenführer Merkel about that..
By:
Merkel's like one of those clueless Facebook teenagers who invite everyone to a party at their house, then sh1t their pants when thousands of people turn up, many being nutters.
By:
No for me btw.
By:
Exactly, so it is best we call their bluff rather than have them in the heart of Europe. It may have the surprising effect of making men of them.
By:
Not one European soldier should set foot in Syria unless they are prepared to do what Europe and Britain tells them. It is that simple...they are not capable of acting sanely.
By:
I wouldn't fight alongside any mussie. I'd be watching my arse in more ways than one..

Every part of their religious and civil life must be governed from Washington, Berlin, Paris and London.
By:
Good luck with that. Ye can't even get em out of their enclaves in Britain to have a wash..
By:
feck off cameron,
NO. |
By:
the Chinese wanting to get involved is a fascinating prospect.
It would be like that bit in Return of the King when the ghost army rocks up and consumes the Orcs. |
By:
An alternative to bombing would be to parachute Diane Abbot and a few of our high profile diversity officers in there to see if we can persuade ISIS to change their ways from within. imo.
By:
A splendid suggestion Inspector.
