Not a lot of people know that film.

My mum used to babysit a subsequent Leeds and England footballer in the 1950s.
I was accidentally bumped into by an Arctic Monkey when he wasn't looking where he was going. And I served a meal the Human League, well Phil and the girls on my very first table, when I was working as a waiter in a cocktail bar. And I was travelling with colleagues once and saw Simon Mayo about 400 yards away and recognised him. I saw the actress who played Eve in Casualty on a train years ago. |

I was on a Shuttle Bus at Heathrow in the late 80s and just like all the other passengers I was agog at the drunken stumblings and antics of a certain England cricket player/captain on the same bus.
Everyone was embarrassed at the spectacle. Naturally such distasteful scenes never stopped him from getting a nice ride on the cricketing media gravy train ever after, no doubt being able to discuss with some expertise the drunken indiscretions of other England cricketers. |

I was on a car-hire shuttle bus at Manchester airport with Peter Buck out of REM and his Mrs. However on getting off we soon parted company as they went to the Avis desk and I went to Enterprise opposite.
I had the last laugh though because there weren't as many punters at Enterprise and I was walking out with the keys whilst they were still stuck in the queue. ![]() |

Nice one Clouseau.
I do hope the disappointment wasn't the end of the world as we know it for Mr Buck. |
|
By:
No, they were happy people, if not a little shiny.

The above happened a year or two after Buck had had the little contretemps with airline staff.
Other people I have flown with are: Bryan Adams... Air France from Paris to Heathrow. He kept jotting away in his notepad during the flight... probably writing a song. Adrian Maguire... Aer Lingus from Dublin to H'row... the stewardess frowned at him because, as a short-arse, he was struggling to reach up and get something out of the overhead locker when the seatbelt sign was on. Iain Dowie... B.A. Manchester - H'row. He was on the way to commentate on a game at Fulham and he was sat next to a Southampton fan who couldn't believe his luck! Dowie also reached and got my bag down from the overhead locker when we arrived because the only space had been above his head a few rows back from where I was in row 2, I think. My brother reckons he was sat next to Daft Punk once but I don't know how he knew because they would have had to take their trademark helmets off to board the flight. I have also been at baggage carousels at the same time as both John Parrot and Gloria Hunniford. and in the same airport bar as Robbie Coltrane ![]() ... and they are just the A listers. ![]() |

Flying back from the caribbean in the early 90's my ex wife noticed the broadcaster Adrian Love on the plane & he was flying on his own, when the plane took off she went over to him for a chat, they seemed to get on she came back but shortly afterwards says she's going back to talk to him again, she spent the last six hours of the flight talking to him, at baggage reclaim I said to him "hope you enjoyed your flight"

I got penalised unfairly in a schools rugby match by the biased b4stard fecking referee, ex-England winger Mike Slemen, for offside after intercepting the opposition scrum-half's pass after the ball had been heeled out of the scrum and rolled through the scrum-half's legs but he hadn't noticed as he was looking away and I had set off and timed my run perfectly and as he turned around and picked the ball up and passed it I was there with a clean run through...
... then Slemen, who just happened to be their teacher, blew his whistle and gave them a penalty. He wouldn't listen to my protestations and threatened to dock me another 10 yards, the tw4t. I am now completely over it.... biased pr1ck ![]() |

An American friend and I were at a Milwaukee Brewers game (vs New York Yankees) at the old County Stadium towards the end of the 1993 season. While we walked around the outside of the stadium, who should we bump into but the great Baseball Hall of Famer (and former Yankee) Reggie 'Mr October' Jackson. "Hello Mr Jackson" we excitedly said. Mr Jackson walked by in silence. A proud moment.

Was at the Grand National in a hospitality box and they delayed serving food until Clive Smith arrived. Not being a big horse racing fan, I was happy getting stuck in to the free bar but, a fair while on, was getting hungry and half cut. Food finally came out and so sat down and started chatting to the bloke and his wife sat next to me. I remarked that it was great food, just a pity I'd had to wait two hours for someone to be arsed to turn up, even if he was famous.
Obviously I Was sat next to Big Clive. He didn't see the funny side. |

Cliff Richard went to my school. Yes & Noel Edmonds went to my school ( or should it really be I went to the same school as ) I think the above two statements should be in a new category, " claims to fame that really shouldn't be mentioned " ![]() |

My best mate has met at least one astronaut from each of the Apollo missions from Apollo 7 to Apollo 17. He has met 12 of the 24 men to have gone to the moon and 6 of those to have walked on the moon. He has dined with Buzz Aldrin (sat next to and nearly headbutted), Gene Cernan, Jim Lovell (sat next to both), Charlie Duke and Dicke Gordon (the last named was at a pub lunch in Glasgow).
