I think that is as tenuous as it gets ![]() |

I know a bloke who has been on telly with Michael Barrymore, Paul Ross and Nick Knowles, among others. When I say I know him, I mean I've exchanged messages on an internet betting forum.

The company where I once worked gave tax advice to the Group UB40. A bloke I worked with saw them all coming into the office to a meeting with the tax partner (in Birmingham).
I was out of the office that day, but I often saw the bloke who saw them come in. Now that's what I call tenuous ... I claim top place on the leaderboard! ![]() ![]() |

My brother locked Dave Bassett in a motorway service station toilet in the early 90s, we were coming back from Watford away when he was Sheff Utd manager.

My grandfather worked as a hospital porter and in 1959 obtained for me the signature of footballer Roy Dwight after he had broken his leg in the F.A. Cup Final. Roy was the cousin of Reg who still earns a living as a piano player.

A former Chit Chat stalwart has contacted me by email, He wishes to remain anonymous at present, but tells me he has posted this tale in the past and wonders whether anyone remembers him/it.
Here goes… verbatim…and in italics... In the mid-1980s I was walking along Barking Road in the pouring rain when a car horn sounded. It was a mate of mine who offered me a lift. He couldn’t stop where I was, not enough room without stopping traffic, so he carried on for about 50 yards to a bus stop. I ran towards his car with my head down, and after about ten strides I spotted a shiny pair of shoes, suit trousers, and a briefcase. I deftly stepped to one side, but just behind ‘the suit’ was a large black man, who I ran into and knocked to the ground. I carried on to my mates car, and then realised who I had knocked over. The ‘suit’ was Terry Lawless, and man was Frank Bruno. A mighty fine tale I think we'd all agree. |

Yours is a good claim on its own ... you know a man who sent you an e-mail in which he said ... etc etc In terms of tenuousity, I'd give it ten out of ten(uous). |

I shagged a girl who had shagged Rick Astley.
And I never caught the ginger gene luckily. |
|
By:
I didn't mean Rick Astley, I meant Chesney Hawkes.
So the ginger quip is not relevant. But I never caught a huge mole on my face as a consequence of the experience. |

An ex-bird knocked back Gareth Barry for me. One of her worse decisions, I'm sure.

But to provide the 'Ying' to Rob_The_Bantam's 'Yang' an ex-bird left me for the bass guitarist in the Nik Kershaw Band

About 15 years ago I visited a client and accepted the offer of a cup of coffee, which was served to me by Kate Adie.
I don't know if she made the drink or if she just acted as the waitress. |

I won a 'Best of One Leg' darts match against a multiple times World Darts Champion. I've beaten a multiple times World Darts Champion at Leave It. Wonder if it's the same won. |

Do I remember that Deborah H story from a similar thread years ago alun ?!
|
|
By:
Hi Blackestnight - yes, that tale normally gets trotted out whenever a thread like this arises. It only seems like a few months ago since it was last told, after a guessing game that involved most of the American chanteuses before someone finally guessed it.
regards etc |

I received and replied to an Email from the former Chit Chat stalwart that alun had the Email from, does that make me one step more tenuous??
