Only listening but no blame put on Stokes and Bairstow from the comms.  Just shows what a coont Bell was last night.  You don't win anything by giving up when you're well in front.  We are well in front here.

I'm going to chuffed if we get 250 if I'm honest

250 should be enough.  Aussie tactics seem to be brainless since the two Johnson hand grenades.  Perhaps Lyon will come on and work his magic.  Fkin Glenn McGrath on comms now, every time I hear him speak I just think Elephant killer.

yeah I've always thought McGrath was a n0b end. His enjoyment of elephant killing is just icing on a sh1tty cake.

Poor shot from Root. England need Ali to reinforce his all rounder tag!

yeah never liked McGrath.  Warne was a good laugh.  Punter and Mitchell Johnson are/were just pantomime villains, never really have/had anything against them.  Warner is a coont for sure.

Ffs. Who was Butler leaving the 2 reviews for. Anderson?
England could easily have got 300 plus here as apart from that Johnson over
the bowlings been poor.

What a brilliant return for Finn. So very, very pleased for him.
He really was messed about by the previous hierarchy at the ECB.

I heard someone on the cricketing airwaves say the other day that Trevor Bayliss would be great for him as he'd just 'let him be'.

Seems like that might have happened - with tremendous results.

Certainly looked as dangerous as he did a few years ago when i thought he and Tremlett were the 2nd coming..

Still need a new opener, although test match ones are very thin on the ground, and i will never be convinced by Bairstow, even though Atherton was fawning all over him before he batted and making excuses for him (amongst others tbf) when he was found out again.

This could be a tricky little total to get.

Well done the Aussies in keeping their end up this morning.

That was torturous, and not over yet.  Reminiscent of Edgbaston 2005.  Will this chase be reminiscent of Trent Bridge 2005?

If they can get Cooke before lunch then it really would be 'game on'.

Bell in a hurry 27 off 14 balls

Great man for a crisis that Bell, I've always said so.  Did anyone hear the interview with Mitchell Johnson this morning?  He was asked why he didn’t utilise the short ball more given that he bowled 2 and got 2 wickets, proper genuine wickets, had our batsmen all ends up.  His response was kind of “yeah looking back perhaps I should have, yeah, oh look mate, yeah I think I should have bowled more short balls.  I wish I did bowl more short balls.  I think I let the team down a bit there.  Ah fk mate, I wish I had have bowled more short balls, don’t know why I didn’t really”.

Not over furnished in the brain department our Mitch.

Their are tribes of amazonians, as yet undiscovered by western civilisation, who could have advised Mitchell Johnson that perhaps bowling more short balls would be a good idea.  How he couldn't make that simple connection is beyond me.
