That's a superb picture! The way the GV White looks almost like it's a petal of the flower, quite perfect composition. You have a good eye.

Jolly well done Egner. That Red Admiral is a tortoiseshell I believe.
I am doing the same thing to the rear of the South wing but work was held up by a pair of amorous Robins. |

That photograph is actually quite beautiful.

|
By:
...thanks evgeny.......
....it is amazing the amount of beauty that the natural world provides all around us........... .....with the increasing pace of "progress" in the world..... .....and the encroachment that the rush to never ending growth has on many habitats...... ...I think an increasing number of people are starting to realise how precious it is...... .....and that it can be the perfect antidote to the increasingly stressful place the world is becoming. .....if you plant it.........they will come!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great photo Egner. One of your best, if not THE best. Sorry to be a buffly nerd, but this looks like one of the MORE yellow colour variants of this species - they all have yellow hindwing reverses but this one seems more yellow than usual. Any Hampshire boys on here? - those GVW's love your Watercress beds. Keep em coming, egner!

Another lovely photo, egner. I did tell you the browns were difficult, particularly when they rest shut

Remember this face. THIS IS THE WOMAN WHO IN YEARS TO COME WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING OFF OUR FOOD CHAIN TODAY. SHE IS THE ENVIRONMENT SECRETARY AND HAS JUST APPROVED THE USE OF PESTICIDES TO KILL BEES, AFTER HALF A MILLION PEOPLE ASKED HER NOT TO. WHY IS THIS GOVERNMENT PUSHING THROUGH POLICIES BEHIND CLOSED DOORS? I c&p'd the wording. |
|
By:
That is awful, Johnizere. Does she not know how important bees are?
Is that a petition in the post above? I will check it out. |
|
By:
..yes johnizere and Makybe........really quite depressing....
..many people in this country and around the world taking action by raising awareness and creating meadows and ecosystems in their gardens to help bees and other pollinators..... ..and with one stroke they make everything so much more difficult....despicable...... ...have signed the petition for what its worth..... ..also this is a superb site.... http://www.plantlife.org.uk/ ...they have a campaign to pressure councils to manage verges and roadsides in a more plant and pollinator friendly way....it is having an effect............. I think!!!!!????? |
