I think it was even worse than that poker. They weren't seeking to humiliate anybody because they didn't think they were important enough to humiliate. It was simply a case of patronising the left wing by throwing them a bone in the same way they did Diane Abbott in 2010 to continue to prove what a broad church they are and it has blown their socks off.
Democracy can be a motherfrucker. ![]() |

Which isn't to say that democracy won't benefit. Corbyn is clearly someone who thinks about issues and arrives at a considered response. Whilst I usually disagree with the view he arrives at I do see it as refreshing that he goes through that process. It sure as **** beats the hell out of, doe eyes, pouting to the camera, mock seriousness/gravitas followed by, "it's the right thing to do".

PM if you made that statement a couple of months back I would totally have agreed with you, its just the government even though they have just won an election are hardly popular with the masses & Corbyn may well in the short term prove popular, be interesting to see how he holds up at question time & of course most of the press will look to belittle him at every opportunity.

And now we have a scenario, God help us, where Diane Abbott will likely occupy a shadow cabinet position!

With an a*** that big she might possibly take up two seats in cabinet.

He appeals to those disenchanted with New Labour and the general spin doctor age of politics.
Nearly 40% didn't vote in May. Many of those will be young and see JC as a refreshing change from the smarmy, slippery politicians on all sides.. However, first Labour select the wrong brother, then Margaret Beckett calls herself a 'moron' for nominating JC.. Astonishing scenes indeed... As EO articulates so well, beware of democracy ![]() |

All in all, a leadership contest that made the words 'booze-up' and 'brewery' spring to mind.

Democracy always falls short when two wolves and a sheep vote upon dinner.

It was pointed out on telly the other day that the new fundijgn rules may stop the usual block grant from the unions.
Of course the individual supporters may stump up but many probably can't be bothered. So then they may rely on donations from people, and what business person is going go give money to help this bell end get in to ruin the country? |

I would just like to congratulate the BBC for the great job they did in getting their man Jezzer Corbs elected as the new labour leader.

Probably the best thing that's ever happened in politics in a long long time for everybody except Labour and the SNP.

Jeremy will split the republican vote down the middle.
The SNPs roll will stutter, Labour will gain some of the ground they lost in Scotland, The LibDems will get back their lost seats. UKIP will have some more shunted in their direction and the Tories will stay where they are for as long as JC is in charge. Well done you Labourites you've played a corker. ![]() |
