So where does it stop?

No more cartoons of some guy that lived in the 7th century. Then they ask for the west to prevent music videos like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVDIXqILqSM

Or more bombs will go off?

Yes s-h but where would it end?

If we gave into the terrorists and banned negative Muslim cartoons, what would their next demand be?

Giving in to them would be like pouring petrol on a fire.

Get real get on massive, take this scenario, next week, there are tube bombings again, killing over a hundred, they declare it's in retaliation for the publication of cartoons depicting their prophet, which is just what happened in France.  What next, do we print more cartoons as yet another act of defiance? when does it stop exactly? This really is simple stuff, you call it gutless, reality calls it common sense.  You'll all be agreeing with me if it happens.

There is logic in that approach....the crocodile may have a heart attack or be killed by a Hippo before it comes to him.

You are assuming there is only one crocodile out there.

Dr Crippen that's just the thing, those cartoons should never have been published in France from the beginning so it shouldn't be about given in, but righting a wrong in the first place, I couldn't care less for religion personally as I think it's a load of bollox, but the desecration of such an important figure to 1.3 billion and expecting no backlash is stupid. And by constantly republishing them and expecting no backlash again is even more stupid. That's just the way it is. It's not a matter of appeasment but respect, I don't go around saying "seasons" greeting to people at Christmas for example as that would be appeasement, it's Merry Christmas from me Grin
The knuckle dragger can throw throw their arms up in the air as much as they want if it makes them feel better but it will get them nowhere in the end.

Hardly a relevant quote.

You're saying we should moderate our way of life because some nutters threaten violence. The Life of Brian is far more offensive to Christians than cartoons but we accepted that without the threat of mass killings.

Where do you draw the line scandanavian_haven?

If extremists demand we stop selling pork, showing Peppa Pig on TV? Or do we do just as they say because they threaten violence. Do you even have a line scandanavian_haven?

These 1.3 billion will only get offended if they purchase the magazine.

If a North Korean or Cuban magazine had printed cartoons of this Muhammed, would those 1.3 billion be just as offended?

They normally sell 60,000. I think it's safe to say that some will be offended, whether they buy it or not.

My LINE is throw all muslims out of the country or there will be another 50 dead on a repeat tube bomb or 200 dead in a Harrods shooting Spree or 1000 dead on an attack on the Shard.

We don't need them !

I dont understand why a muslim in Indonesia would be offended by a cartoon by a magazine sold in France or anywhere else in the world.

But they have the right to take offence. Just dont blow themselves or other people up. Or try and change the laws of other countries.

I don't mean to be disrespectful Get on massive, but you must have a bit more going on upstairs ? I'm not explaining simplicity any further after this. The very most sacred thing to the biggest religion on the planet is their prophet, and it's been disrespected over and over, and you are making comparisons to pork? Selling pork is not mocking a religion, selling magazines depicting a prophet is clearly sacrilegious and asking for trouble. What I have always said is though, is that multiculturalism is clearly unworkable based on the last few thousand years

Also 9/11, 7/7, Madrid bombings. tiger tiger attempted bomb plot, ricin bomb plot, liquid bomb plot, Lee rigby killing, Boston bomb etc etc

None have had to do with cartoons of the prophet or disrespecting him.

So if that is the "very most sacred thing to the biggest religion on the planet", we seem to get lots of violence without that being a factor.

this morning on the Radio5 phone in I guess there were 5 or 6 muslims rang the show over this front cover issue. Every single one of them said the responsibility should be on us not to offend their prophet, one even said satire should be banned altogether. They have won and Europe has lost it is now just a matter of time.

Football is OBVIOUSLY the biggest religion since it has churches (stadiums) saints (St.Messi, St. Pele, St.Cruyff...) - and huge corruptions and rewards...Heaven (Champions' League) - Hell (relegation) - and PURGATORY - just ask Leeds United fans Mischief

good to see some of the press showing the cartoon, but FFS make it a decent size will you ??

I'm sure many of us have tried to upload the image on here but it will never get approved. I'd have it as my new profile pic, if they'd allow it. Laugh

Meanwhile, check out the abuse miss Mia Khalifa is getting from her muslim countrymen since she was voted top performer on p0ornhub. Apparently in one of her scenes, she even wears a hijab. That's my afternoon sorted then Cool

So the obvious next step would be for blasphemy laws to protect Islam? What would be the range of punishments? A caution? community service? custodial sentence? something harsher?
