Pretty sure it was a libel case regarding Sarkosys son converting to Judaism for financial gain. Wasnt because of anti semitic views but a case against an individual not a slight on the Jewish faith

It would not be double standards, there are correct standards and incorrect standards.

scandanavian_haven and I paraphrase, said we should not upset these people and cower to their demands so they won't harm us.

no I didn't, I said if you insult the most sacred thing to them and then keep doing it, you're going have to expect a backlash, which is what happened, and will happen again, you've compared already the selling of pork to the insult of a prophet so I don't know if I should take you seriously anywayLaugh
It's called respect, insulting another religion is asking for trouble - me buying pork in my own country, not wearing religious headgear in my country, not praying 5 times a day in my own country, is not an insult to anyone, if I were to do that, that would be bowing to DEMANDS, showing respect by not insulting a religious figures is something different altogether, if you really can't understand this I really can't help you anymore.

And what happens if they say women not covering up in public offends them? If they threaten our safety until women cover up? Do we abide by that as well. It really is simple to your answer you start shutting down Mosques. You cant behave we will shut you down

They all ready do, and they are rightfully ignored.

We live in a country that embraces satire. We allowed the production and showing of The Life of Brian for instance.
The film did receive negative remarks from some religious leaders who were no doubt offended but no death threats.
Not printing this image is pandering to the extremists. Why is their prophet any more precious than anyone else's?
Our country, our values and our laws.

^^^^^^^^^^^this^^^^^^^^^

When I was growing up and The Life of Brian came out then Islam was just another religion like Judaism and Buddhism. There beliefs and views were there own business and of little interest to the masses in the UK.

Now we have Islamic extremists murdering us for our way of life. If Christian Europe deems it's own religion not to be above satire then someone elses is irrelevant to us. Satire is part of our culture.

If we make it law to ban images of Muhammed or get intimidated enough to cower to these people's demands then at some point in the future it will be something else, you can guarantee it.
