Foyles war, yes. Good comedy is relatively timeless?
There's a reason why Life of Brian and Laurel and Hardy and maybe even Stiller/Ferrell will still be shown in 50 years, and "My booky wooky" will be long forgotten and the amassed works of James Corden won't be on an aspiring comedians watch list, and it's not the year it was made :) Although having said THAT I do remember in English at School the teach trying to explain Shakespeare jokes to us, and .. well .. I didn't really find them that funny, sorry. Shakespeare's another, no talent and made a good living, up to his rough in filthy loot he was!  |

I think Rik Mayall and Lee Evans are very funny.
It's all just a matter of opinion. All the people mentioned are talented, it's just that some like them and some don't. For example, I'm sure many people like Picasso paintings. But to me, they are meaningless rubbish and I wouldn't pay two Bob for em, let alone 2 million. |

Brand is acting the **** lately. Trying to convert himself into some kind of comedy political commentator who must be clever because he is a liberal leftie.
What's worse is the BBC are giving him a public forum to spread his **** by inviting him on news night. I have no wish to see Brand on newsnight. I want to see people who are actually important in this country. All these stupid government conspiracy theories regarding 9/11. He's gonna end up as a David Icke Mk 2. |

If someone has little or no talent and made a good living out of whatever they do how can they be described as a mug? Surely Joe Public who encourage, and ultimately pay them, are the real mugs. |
