cmat the UAF are supposed to be staging a demo outside the house of the C4 Paedo Hunter Stinson Hunter, as they've labelled him "a bully". Since he lives on a big council estate and is surrounded by lots of very protective and handy mates, that could turn out to be quite interesting.

The Guardian have a moan about inaction:
Widespread sexual abuse in Rotherham has caused outrage – but little action While the alleged abusers still walk free, many victims lack support, legal help, and even police protection from the men they have accused. If political outrage were currency, Rotherham would be overflowing with cash, action and initiatives to help the survivors. But as I found when I went to make a BBC film about the role of “political correctness” in the child sex-abuse scandal there, it’s not. As I write, the police have yet to arrest any of the alleged abusers of the women I met. All have reported them. There is no organised support for any of the survivors or their families. The Rotherham Women’s Counselling Service, which offers specialised support to sexual abuse survivors, has a six-month waiting list. full pitiful article at . http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/oct/06/sexual-abuse-rotherham-abusers-victims |

Staffordshire’s UKIP MEP Jill Seymour today condemned the ‘alarming and unacceptable’ rise in child exploitation across the county, and called on the Government to make more money available to bring the criminals to justice.
Jill Seymour’s comments follow news that 27 children were sexually exploited in Stoke-on-Trent last year, with hundreds more across the West Midlands believed to be at risk. Youngsters in the Potteries are considered particularly vulnerable to organised sexual exploitation, due to the city’s deprivation and the availability of cheap rental properties, according to the council. Police and council leaders insist they are doing everything they can tackle the problem, and have insisted that a Rotherham-style scandal will not be allowed happen in Staffordshire. Mrs Seymour, Staffordshire’s UKIP representative in the European Parliament, said: “I'm alarmed and frankly speechless that, yet again, we are hearing stories about the suffering of innocent children. “It is totally unacceptable in today’s society to find reports of these types of crime increasing, not decreasing.” Staffordshire Police has doubled the size of its child exploitation team, despite facing budget cuts. It now comprises a detective inspector, two detective sergeants and 12 police officers. Mrs Seymour said: “The Government must recognise this alarming growth in child abuse, and ensure every council and police force is given adequate funds to investigate, and bring the perpetrators to justice. “It is good to hear Staffordshire organisations are working together to prioritise the issue, but worrying to hear them already warning of funding restrictions which could hamper their progress. “These dregs of society must be caught, and when they are, the courts must hand down severe sentences which are appropriate for such a vile, disgusting crime.” Mrs Seymour also urged the public to be vigilant, and brave enough to report any suspicions that a child may be at risk of harm. “The authorities have a responsibility to swiftly and transparently protect children across the West Midlands without fear or favour to any segment of society, unfettered by the political correctness that has caused untold suffering for many victims.” |

Yet at least 27 reported cases have been recorded last year ? Just how many do Staffs police regard as a reasonably acceptable figure ?Due to deprivation of course, not deprevation. |

Four years of crucial files on child sex abuse in Rotherham have gone missing from Rotherham council's archive, it was revealed yesterday.
Professor Alexandra Jay, who wrote the bombshell report revealing 1,400 young girls were abused in the town over 15 years, said minutes from key meetings have disappeared. Appearing before the Commons local government committee, Prof Jay warned her inquiry had not seen all the key information. “We were concerned about particular missing information, from around the time 1999 to 2003. “This was a period when there were a group of dedicated professionals meeting and trying hard to address these issues,” she said. “These meetings were carefully minuted. Those minutes were never available. “I asked for them on several occasions, and they couldn’t be found.” “There were four years of minutes. “They contained information about how decisions were made about these children’s lives. As adults they have a right to know what happened.” Prof Jay’s report revealed how a series of reports warning of widespread sexual abuse of vulnerable girls by gangs of Asian men were swept under the carpet by council chiefs. She made clear today that highly-paid bosses were to blame. “The problem was certainly with the senior managers who did not pay attention to what they were being told, and insisted it was all being blown out of proportion,” she said. Asked where those bosses are now, she said: “They are either retired or moved elsewhere.” Prof Jay added that a desire to keep “good relations” with the local Pakistani community and a worry about “reputational risk” for the council also caused officers to turn a blind eye. She said: “There was a hope on the part of some that this was just a one-off problem and if people just kept quiet about it it would all just go away.” The council’s new leader, Paul Lakin, admitted the council had been ineffective in the past because it was too dominated by a single party - Labour. At one stage, he said, more than 60 of the council’s 66 members were all Labour Party councillors. Lakin - himself a Labour councillor - questioned how well previous administrations were held to account. “You’re always going to have a particular problem where you have a single party with a majority of the size that Rotherham was,” he said. Rotherham Council is already facing an independent inquiry into its protection of children in the wake of the devastating report. It was confirmed yesterday that South Yorkshire Police will also face an inquiry into its failings, overseen by the National Crime Agency. . http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/rotherham-child-sex-abuse-files-4432671 |

Fears of a “deliberate cover-up” by public officials of the sexual abuse of children in Rotherham have been fuelled by the large number of documents detailing the scandal which have vanished, an investigation by MPs has concluded.
They urged the Home Office to launch an immediate search for the missing paperwork and to examine claims that files warning about the activities of paedophile rings were stolen from a locked council office in the South Yorkshire town. . http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/missing-rotherham-abuse-scandal-files-fuel-public-suspicion-of-a-deliberate-coverup-9802307.html |

Where are Panorama and the Irishman who followed Farage?
What are they trying to portray and what are they sweeping under the carpet? |
|
By:
I would have thought the Rotherham Council Offices should have been a locked down crime scene many weeks ago. (obviously years ago but..) Then these documents would still exist.
When the story broke the emphasis was on a failure/cover up by police and especially the council. Surely covering up sexual abuse is a crime isn't it??? It must equate to being an accessory..why no arrests and warrants to search the premises? |
|
By:
They were quick enough to raid a shadow minister's office in Parliament a while back to trace the source of a whistleblower so this surely should be treated with more urgency ! If only Cliff Richard lived in Rotherham the police would have left him alone .

I started a thread about these missing documents on the politics forum almost a week ago, but as ExtremeX (the nutter's nutter) was the first to respond, it sank like a stone.

Is Castleford near Rotherham?
On BBC news this morning. 67 year old woman stabbed in a care home in Castleford at 6-15 a.m. today. Police have given a description of the attacker, but for some reason the BBC didn't, so I guessed. I just googled the local police page. There were two men, both asians. |

You don't say ? Whoever would have guessed that, lets wait for the clip on Crimewatch to invite the public to help.

Any chance of prosecutions or just internal discipline I wonder.... |

More likely they are scapegoats for a policy driven by senior police officers to discourage arrests in the name of cultural sensitivity. You can hardly blame PC Plod for giving up when the CPS and the police authority challenged the mere idea of such an arrest a dozen years ago in a political climate that was hostile to the concept.

I don't understand what is meant by "The 10 most popular news stories read on the BBC news site".
Is this some sort of recording system which indicates the number of people who click onto/read that particular news item? If it IS what I have suggested above, then would that not mean that it was not being read by the public? OR are you suggesting manipulation of the precise number of 'hits' by the BBC? ![]() |
