When every job in the future is done by robots? full unemployment will be the norm? therefore unemployed people are more evolved. accepting that work is redundant. a futile endeavor reserved for robots.

My mate from school Jeremy got a First in Maths from Cambridge, a Ph.D from Oxford and worked at BT in their strategic research division
earning £100K+ for 20+ years and paid a feck load of tax and NI Since 2008 he has been made redundant (simply to save his salary), lost his family a divorce (6 kids) and they ended up losing the house too (in Hadleigh) Now, are the 'dole scroungers should take any job' telling me that this guy has to take a shittty minim um wage job or lose his unemployment benefit? The guy has paid his dues and imo is entitled to apply only for jobs which his qualifications and experience indicate are suitable. Fcuking casino bankers and speculation spivs can get billions for risking other peoples money but a really clever guy working on the cutting edge of technology has to accept crap work? Fcuk you |

cameras will be placed in your house - you will have to swing a hammer about to show you are working while the robots do the real work. Car factory robots building cars. mining robots doing the digging. Lawyer robots doing the paperwork. gambling bots winning the cash.

Immigration and Benefit Cheaters are the problem. Lets attack those two issues.
|
|
By:
Akabula - that's what they WANT you to think...you're being played like a harp.
Those two issues ARE a concern but they're far from the be all & end all - do you really believe that if we close the door and stop a few bums from sponging that the country will be fine & dandy? ![]() |

As regards benefits what do you suggest. Now remember we are talking benefits so no **** about rich bankers, that's another argument.
|
|
By:
If anyone who spouts the government-fed propaganda believes the bullplop they're spouting they are;
a, naïve b, foolish to think the stuff they're being convinced into thinking/saying is to anyone's real advantage. Most people on benefits are not there through choice even if SOME are. 50% of the welfare budget is pensions. The people who run things are also living off our money too and they not only earn plenty, but get pay rises while all around the majority of us scrabble about for what's left. The Government are fighting tooth and nail for example, to keep banker's bonuses at the ridiculous rate they're at, rather than accept the European ruling that they should be capped at 200% of salary. The cabinet is comprised of very very wealthy people who couldn't give a tinker's cuss about the average working person and will revel in the job they've done getting loads of people to deride a load of other people by stereotyping and clever marketing/advertising/propaganda - which has probably cost us millions too. As much has been spent on taking potential money from the needy, especially via ATOS, as has actually been 'saved'. That money WOULD have gone back into circulation and been spent. Instead it has been given to Foreign IT companies and people who already have plenty and will not be spending it. It's a big con, and sadly, too many people are being conned. Although it isn't a very good analogy, it isn't a million miles from the OP's assertion. Channel 5 had many messages last night on the comments section of the programme in question. Most of those criticising the programme or mentioning the propaganda aspect of it were 'removed by the moderator'. It IS a massive conspiracy. |

The diarrhoea is the turds who take from others and give nothing in return.
This isn't the twenties or the thirties. The class war was won by the plebs decades ago. This is the prosperous 2010's You should know by now that the rich pay for the untalented poor. For if the poor had any talent, then why do they have to struggle? When the poor were bribed to vote labour by giving them money to stay at home and doss, or to breed for benefits, the country started to go down a slippery slope. Now the alarm bells can be heard ringing out load and clear, as foreign workers who even with having to struggle with the language are preferred to our home grown labour. This is no time for 'the world owes me a living brigade.' They'll simply get left behind to exist on dwindling benefits. |
|
By:
Another conspiracy. |
|
By:
Akabula - yes...that is another argument so OK then squire - one reasonable idea would be stop extra payments for excess kids...I'd imagine you can heat a house for two children for the same as TEN!
I'm NOT unreasonable ![]() |
|
By:
So some lazy turd of a woman wants to churn out kid after kid knowing that she'll need benefits to keep them and we should just accept this. It's premeditated child neglect. What do you suggest we do?
|
|
By:
Not, akabula, treat everyone who loses their livelihood like they are a lazy turd.
Crippen, you really do live on another planet.... "The poor have no talent, the rich pay for the poor" and "plebs won the class war" Utter b0llox. Just WTF do you think you are!?! |
|
By:
Akabula - some calculations need to be done to chop the amount accordingly, but the people on these shows are RARITIES - not the norm!
It's obscene that they get the same amount for each kid making them incentivised to have more & more...that unquestionably is wrong and any reasonable person would agree with that. |
|
By:
Crippen - don't you have ANY sympathy for JR's mate (post of 18:49) who is NOT a deadbeat?
If you're not a multi-millionaire, that could be YOU one day - your attitude WILL change then. |
|
By:
i have found that when the boots on the other foot the attitude soon changes! as navel g says they scream the loudest when it happens to them .
|
|
By:
Judo: your mate earned 100k+ a year for 20+ years? Excuse me if I dont have much sympathy for his predicament. That is over two million quid ffs.
|

By:
In answer to Navel-Gazer:
Now, are the 'dole scroungers should take any job' telling me that this guy has to take a shittty minim um wage job or lose his unemployment benefit? Absolutely. |

@STUDYFORM
I have no hassle with people on benefits but the abuse of the system does really make me angry. As regards my example there are plenty who fall into that category without ever having worked. I took early retirement at 57 on a works pension which I pay tax on and I'd like to see it better spent. Look at how little the OAPs of this country get. Now if we cut out waste elsewhere in the system this could be improved. I don't agree with the approach being currently taken/proposed but neither do I agree with the defence of ALL those on benefits because we have problems in other areas. |

that's coz you are A TOTAL KUNNNT ROB

AND A THICK ONE TOO, PRICK

@judo tough luck on your mate and I hope he gets sorted soon but why should we pay for him to wait for a similar opening.

What did he do with 2 million quid judo? Just sounds squanderous to me

Women must be encouraged to have as many children as possible and awarded for doing so.
Part of the reason we are having to import so many foreigners is our declining birth rate. Total Fertility Rates fell to its lowest point ever in 2001, and even with increased immigration since we are still going to require millions more immigrants to pay for future pensions, even the governments own think tank has come to this conclusion. Tory Grant Shapps did at least get one thing right on QT last week when he said for the economy to expand and us all get richer, we need more people (future workers). Those who say Britain is too overcrowded already are talking through their anuses. Obviously never been to Hong Kong or Singapore. Only 9% of Britain is developed, we can build many more cities & expand existing cities etc. |
|
By:
Not enough jobs to go round as it is. Yes that makes sense.

Tell that to the 1.5 mil under 25's out of work. |
|
By:
You obviously don't understand economics, and you don't understand that building new cities, homes, hospitals, factories with generous tax breaks for wealthy overseas investors
(China)would create new growth in the economy. The main reason the Tories went straight into recession was government cuts in the construction industry. |

He's paid for himself. |
|
By:
Would apply to everybody so nobody would need to take a job below the level they were at.
|
|
By:
2 questions.
Are there enough jobs available for all the people on benefits to do? Would any of you employ a scrounging chav type layabout non-worker? I'm pretty sure the answer to both is no. Still, never mind, the tories will bring back workhouses eventually, so the underclasses and plebs aren't in their line of vision. Even if those underclasses and plebs are simply good people unable to afford to run small businesses, or have been made redundant, or become ill. |

The trouble is, everybody on the dole gets tarred with the same brush.
My mate's on the dole and I've got to say it. He takes the piss big style! He gets his beautiful flat paid for, and he can afford to get pissed and stoned. He applies for jobs to keep the Job Centre off his back, but he knows he's not gonna get them. What REALLY pisses me off SO much is the fact he can claim lots of benefits cos he's blown all his money on having a good time. I've made LOADS of sacrifices and saved and got told I can't claim anything. I'm very bitter!!! |
|
By:
norhern liar has completely lost it now
but you just wait till the chinese arrive they are buying up britain as fast as they can go and will soon be cracking the whip and when they bring in their own minimum wage you will understand what living on the poverty line is!!! coz rest assured it will be the chinese cracking the whip |

then I suggest they think again...that is a crap solution what happens when the immigrants get old? These people are paid a lot of money...which they do not appear to have earnt 0/10..please try harder I suggest they earn it...and come up with something better ok |

Moonbeam
Sounds like Judo`s mate has been stung by a divorce and unemployment. He has probably lost the lot, however at least on the rock `n` roll he will avoid child maintenance - every cloud...... |
|
By:
our problem is we have too many people in this country..there is not enough work for them
increasing immigration will make this problem worse not better the solution is in fact obvious, people must work longer to their 70s 80s even 90s... which is in fact a more useful thing for them to do then sitting about doing nothing we must tailor our population to the amount of jobs available It shows why this country is in a mess...there is no party we can vote in who are capable of making sensible decisions our present system of democracy is failing keep the red flag flying ![]() |

By:
yep , i should've replied differently & i understand he had problems & what a divorce could do to him
but i disagree with ricks comment The guy has paid his dues and imo is entitled to apply only for jobs which his qualifications and experience indicate are suitable. You pay you taxes , not your dues imo He'll probably never find another 100k per year job , so in the meantime he's only as good as the next man , it's this kind of attitude that's almost as bad as benefit scroungers themselves , what does he get housing benefit & £70 week |
