TV programmes that end with the typical comment "If you've been affected by tonight's programme you can speak in private with one of our advisors on 0800 blahblahblah".
This strikes me as being a particularly phenomenon. Since when has it been the job of the TV channel (particularly the BBC) to offer some some sort of counselling service, possibly to a caller who is making things up. More pertinently, what sort of halfwit phones up a TV channel to discuss some potentially incredibly sensitive personal matter with someone who might well be some chancer journalist? |

I too was thinking of mobile phones/trains/verbal diarreah
I was sat opposite a young woman this morning on the train while I was trying to read the paper. She wittered on with her nonsense oblivious to the volume the full journey I was 4king livid when I disembarked |

The worst thing is when the intrusive mobile phone/mp3 player/computer antics take place in the designated Quiet Zone, and the ticket inspector avoids going near the place for fear of confrontation.
It's a bit like the stewards at football matches who continually turn a blind eye to all manner of scandals, for fear of getting a good kicking. |

He doesn't start it either, it is a sham, the so-called "live" draw takes place about an hour before the broadcast. more to the point, why do they wear the facking gloves anyway?? ![]() |

Len was surely the unimpeachable, respected by all, man of honour, dignity, wisdom and probity who would have transferred seamlessly from Snooker Referee, to overseeing the Decommissioning the weapons of Republican and Loyalist paramilitary organisations.

Len was indeed a man of stature (and unmistakable posture)

And a man who never so much as broke wind at a snooker game, let alone do so violently.

14 Jun 13 22:18 absolutely everybody - and I mean everybody - is doing his stance I'm not. I've never watched snooker on telly, saw it live, once, in Peterborough, fell asleep. It was the spotty scots lad, matchroom league. |
