Have you ever been called a drongo? Where does this insult comes from?

It does come from Australia but I need a bit more than that Clunge

It's a bird. For some reason Aussie's are keen to use bird names as insults. I remember Alf Stewart in Home and Away calling people both drongo and 'a shag on a rock'. Why they do this I've no idea.

Not the right answer. It is a bird but not in this case

If you're thinking of the horse, I think that's probably a myth. They also use flaming gala (another bird) as a derogatory term.

Australian slang: A "no-hoper" or fool. Derives from a racehorse of that name in the 1920's that never one a race out of 37 starts.

In March 1977 Australia played England in a one-off test match in Melbourne to celebrate the centenary of the first ever Australia v England test. What was unusual about the result of the 1977 encounter?

Same result as in 1877: Aus won by 45 runs.

Think you are right there Nirv.  Defo wasnt a tie.  Only two, aus v wi in 1960/1 and india v aus in the eighties.

Similarly.

What was unusual about the second test England v Zimbabwe, in Zim in 1996?

Scores were level (match drawn) but not a tie as England (chasing) were 9 down (not all out as needed if it were a tie)

Tommy is right.  Scores level but still a draw.  Think nick knight got a ton chasing.  Bumble then made the infamous "we flippin murdered them" statement.  So we have never beaten zim away from home yet in the past 13 years we have beaten everyone else home and away.  Tbf, the 0-0 result did flatter them, though we were well beaten in the one dayers.  Eddie chicken farmer Brandes famously taking a hattrick.

Who is the only US President to have attended a Test match?                (Very thinly veiled 'Guess a US President Q', imo)

It is gonna be a guess a president question.  But I will go with Bill Clinton or perhaps George W Bush

Presumably a trick question Pumpy.  Think only eng and aus played tests back then.  There was a trination tourney with saffers but think that was more like 1905.  So i can only presume you are not talking about cricket.   Or even rugby.

My guess would be New Zealand.
