Just read that piece on Christopher Jefferies (link above) very interesting
and doesn't look a weirdo with his new short hair style:

"Slight and spry, he turns up to be interviewed wearing a striped Abercrombie & Fitch shirt, black trousers and youthful, winkle-pickerish boots. Christopher Jefferies wears his hair shorter now than in those days around New Year when he attracted national attention, and it is tinted brown. He doesn’t look 65."

And don't forget it was Tabak that tried to put him in the frame,
and the press had a field day when it was 'local weirdo arrested'

And now Tabak desperately playing his last card and trying to claim it was manslaughter,
"I still can't understand what happened" after he strangled her.

*IF* you had an accident that resulted in a death for which it's possible you would go to jail for 20 years, you are going to be in a pretty strange state of mind.  I don't think you can draw reliable conclusions from his actions _after_ the death.

The jury are going to take some convincing that he didn't intend to kill her when he throttled her to death.

Could be 3, the missing one Jo bought
the one Jo's boyfriend ate on his return from Sheffield
the one Tabak ate on the night

Just been reading the tweets from the trial.  He's done a lot of strange things and without one piece of evidence, he might have a point about panicking and getting it wrong etc.  The one thing that doesn't add up for me is the 43 injuries.

From local Bristol paper:

"Earlier the Dutchman told jurors he had thought about jumping off a bridge after killing Miss Yeates.

“I remember reading in one of the newspapers that they (the police) had found DNA, a sample of the DNA found on Joanna’s body, and I thought ’that’s it’,” he said."

You try and kiss a girl, she screams. Surely you would step back, hold your hands up and apologize for misreading the signals?

MURDER HAS TO BE PRE-MEDITATED

Tabak certainly had time to stop ( 43 different injuries and the time it takes to strangle someone ) what he was doing but was it pre-meditated ?

No it doesn't.

It does in Hollywood.

Premeditated murder is the crime of wrongfully causing the death of another human being (also known as murder) after rationally considering the timing or method of doing so, in order to either increase the likelihood of success, or to evade detection or apprehension.[1] State laws in the United States vary as to definitions of "premeditation." In some states, premeditation may be construed as taking place mere seconds before the murder. Premeditated murder is usually defined as one of the most serious forms of homicide, and is punished more severely than manslaughter or other types of murder - often with the death penalty or a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

I was on a jury some time ago where a man was on trial for assault with intent to cause GBH. The judge directed us to the point that the 'intent' can be as short a timescale as a split second.

Indeed.

It's because I wasn't sure that I posed it as a question in my original post.

I'm still not sure what constitutes premeditation ........

It's obviously murder when some planning has gone into it ..... it appears the killing of Joanna was opportunistic and no planning went into it ...... in that case I believe he intended to kill her as he could have stopped at any time.

In France  would it have been called a crime of passion ?

"You try and kiss a girl, she screams. Surely you would step back,  and apologize."

Yes but how many girls would scream if you only tried to kiss them ?
If it was just as innocent as that, would she have screamed and kept on screaming ?

Can't buy that story at all, and then the 43 injuries,
be very surprised if he doesn't get charged for murder.

What exactly were these 43 injuries? You can stab someone 43 times but presumably you can only strangle them once.
So what were the other 42?

^ "Abrasions and bruises could be clearly seen on her neck and face and were among 43 separate injuries found during post-mortem examinations.

Dr Delaney said the body had been frozen rigid when it was recovered and he was initially unable to conduct a full post-mortem until it had fully thawed out.

He explained that he was able to ascertain that the vast majority of the injuries had been sustained while Miss Yeates was alive.

Dr Delaney said: "Bruising only occurs when the heart is beating – so the injuries occurred during life."

VT has done a lot of research between the murder and his arrest.
This is the best story he can come up with. Nobody will buy it. Girls who invite you in for a drink do not scream if you try to kiss them. I dont think that she invited him in, unless he went around to ask to borrow some sugar perhaps.. he had probably been drinking and went for it.

Stupid cnunt deserves life. He will be out in 12.

My feeling is that he was besotted with her, and had been watching her, since she moved in.

The rear of the property is very secluded, and has the entrance to his flat, and Joanna's bedroom window,
just a few meters apart!

I wonder how much time he had spent, trying to get a glimpse of her in her bedroom , whilst he was hidden in the dark winter mornings and evenings!

"Mr Lickley QC said: "You were, in fact, thinking of more... having kisses and kisses and kisses... thinking of having sex with Joanna Yeates."

Tabak replied: "No, I wasn't."

"Mr Lickley QC asked Tabak a series of questions about what he did after Miss Yeates started screaming, to which Tabak consistently said he could not remember. He also said he could not remember how multiple minor injuries were caused to Miss Yeates' head, neck and arms.

Mr Lickley asked whether, to stop her screaming: "All you had to do was walk out of the flat?"

Tabak replied, after a pause: "Yes... I didn't."

.....then he tried to distract attention away from himself and talked to police about Jefferies
and tried to frame the landlord. And now when he's under pressure with the questions
he says he can't remember.
