Cath, you don't know what 'quarantined' means?

I can't help feeling you might be out of your depth.

Whatever will the forum do?

I do but you and sibaroni don't clearly. Or you would of seen that being kept in quarantine would mean you would not be alllowed to travel home.

There you go, not even a need to draw you a picture. plain and simple.

Actually fat aids the immune system whereas both thin people and fitness fanatics are much more likely to catch every bug going because lack of fat lack of nutrition and physical exertion all lower immunity.

lack of fat and lack of nutrition both lower resistance.

That alone would have raised gorgeous George's hackles, FBD!

Plus thin people get out more and have more contact with other people.

I'll not hijack the thread with Carmen talk but if you ever get chance to read the book by his son O,it's a horrible hatchet job.

How the great man ever got Len Fairclough off is an utter miracle! but still.

cath, you said

So we are now being told that if you develop symptons whilst on holiday abroad you are to stay there and not travel home before you are cleared.

"there", being "abroad". We have exposed that to be a lie. Quarantined does not mean exiled abroad, however many dictionaries you buy.

Which rather confirms what we all thought, your basis (you did at least give us a link this time) for your conclusions bear no relation in fact to each other.

cath22:

Reading your comment as an old poster I can only conclude that you are another in a long line of cyber warriors, that sit with there head up there own ass eating pot noodles in a bedsit.

No, just reading the moronic witterings of a deluded BBW 22 year old whlist trading on tradefair.

You're an old poster who doesn't know that "there" should be "their" when possesive, but you managed to spell "conclude" correctly, so 10/10.

Cath, are you referring to other countries quarantining people from affected countries?

Some countries have put quarantine measures in place for people travelling from affected countries

That is entirely different from your claim that ... 'we are now being told that if you develop symptoms whilst on holiday abroad you are to stay there and not travel home before you are cleared.'

Isn't it?

I've read it, FBD. You're right, it's an unfortunate book imo.

I never met the man, but have spoken about him with people who knew him quite well. He was like all of us, flawed, but I would have loved to have see him work.

Why doesn't resident medical expert Cath22 start laying some bets on Betfair. We could have a SwineFlu market section?

50 deaths a day by Aug 1st BACK 1.03 LAY 20.0

She could use her DSS benefit as liquidity.

The prospect of me leading anyone is too, too horrible. It's best left to real, practising barristers for one!

Gov are talking about school closure this Autumn.
By:
The Magic Flea
When: 21 Jul 09 14:25
in which way are they talking about it?

Previously Schools Secretary Ed Balls said that there is "no longer" a case for closing schools to contain the infection's spread as the virus was already established in the community.

But he added: "We will be monitoring the situation closely over the school holidays and will review the evidence in late August."

so how long would you suggest that the schools should be closed?
By:

When: 21 Jul 09 15:18
large scale school closure isnt possible without causing a major sterling problem and economic ruin. Brown is already borrowing 13 billion a month, any further deterioration and its all over. Why dont we just stop being stupid about this silly little illness and get on with things.

Harry, even if it doesn't mutate into a deadly form, the projection is for a third of the population to become infected. That's an awful lot of economic mayhem.

Well I've been backpacking for the last five or so months and the first i heard of swine flu was when half the ppl on the particular tour (in south america) i was on at the time were showing flu symptoms and dropping like flies to their beds for the whole trip. It didn't help that we were in the middle of nowhere, with no electricity etc. The girl who told me about it made it sound like it was sweeping across the world, so i did think i was going to die and was quite worried (about it for half an hour), until i saw what we were eating for dinner that night.

Still, around a week ago whilst doing a hooker my jonny broke and then the next day I got biten by a monkey. So to be fair I would take swine flu at this present. (disclaimer, last sentence may or may not be true)

Is good to see the gutter press scare mongering again though, and muppets buying into it with wet pants. Ahhh england

If the worst case scenario comes off, and this virus causes 65,000 deaths in the UK, that makes it 900/1 against any one of us dying.

But if THEY are hiding the truth, and it causes ONE MILLION DEATHS ... that makes it 60/1 against any one of us dying.

I'm really trying hard to panic here, but I just can't do it.
