The last I heard from Kq was when I got back online on my own PC.
There was an e-mail there from Friends Reuited, he had found my real name at my old school. The e-mail was old by then, so it was about 3 or 4 months ago. I had an old e-mail address for him last year. I sent one but never got a reply, so I assume he's killed that one off. |

Tommy Toes, A while back, BBC2 did a series called Reputations. One of these featured Sugar Ray,
and i've never seen anything like it. It followed his life from a teenager until he died. Without doubt the greatest ever fighter imo. None of these mickey mouse twelve round bouts like we have now, proper fifteen rounders. I could go on and on all night about this ledgend, winning the world middleweight championship on FIVE different occasions. Nobody in the HISTORY of boxing has, or ever will do this, and believe me, he fought no mugs. I hope BBC repeat it, unmissable. It was reckoned he was the only boxer that could deliver a knockout punch going BACKWARDS. I have it on tape and still watch it from time to time. I recommend you tape it if repeated. P.S. I'm still waiting for Hobson's Choice to come on again. |

By:
Stewarty, I saw the programme. It was excellent.
Sugar Ray Robinson was undoubtedly one of the greatest boxers of all time. |

iddleweight championship on FIVE different occasions. Nobody in the HISTORY of boxing has,
or ever will do this, ????????????????????????????? ??????????? SHOULD read again. TT, was it you that spoke about Hobson's Choice? |
|
By:
It was, Stewarty. One of my favourite films. It was repeated one afternoon quite recently ( in the last 3-4 months, I think) so it probably won't be on again for awhile.

Yes, I could watch Charles Laughton all day, he just had this certain persona on screen. Top class, And he won a best actor Oscar.

Ch4 - 02:30: KOTV - Boxing Magazine. Ch5 - 04:25: Boxing Classic - Nigel Benn v Nicky Piper. |
|

I only saw the second half of KOTV, but it did include a good piece in the 'ledgends' slot about Sugar Ray Leonard.
A point of interest was, he retired from boxing after winning Olympic Gold for a short time, as he said he'd realised all his ambitions. It was a good thing for boxing he decided to pursue a professional career at one of the greatest ever times in the middleweight division. |

kq, aka**ney Banker, rex oedipus, cupid stunt and nobby cheese. Barred from forum as I said, kept drifting over to footy forum, getting wound up and ending up being barred on several occasions. Still looks in but nowhere near as often as he did, used up all his credit cards on new accounts here.
Knows AITL, in fact has been in your bookies TGM In Canning Town. The stories I could tell about him, kq said. He's aware you've legged it up to Norfolk and says you've done right. He can't wait to get out of this effing hole. In fact his conversation is littered with expletives but he's a good laugh and would be a great bloke to share a pint with from what I can gather. More to come but need to check some trading I'm doing. |
|
By:
I'd have recognised him if he came in while I was there, so I probably wasn't.
He reminds me a bit of of Bob Mills. |
