Anyone else think Amir Khan is only fighting dummies right now?

Yes absolutely, it will be fascinating when he's upped in class though.

Here's a good fight from 1975.

Norman Hunter won on points I reckon.

Yes, just Hunter
:)

By the way, remember the boy I told you all about on here a few years ago?...Kevin Mitchell.
Well Warren wants them to meet at super featherwweight, which Khan says he can get down to easily......trust me, the Dagenham boy will put him away. Can't wait.

I don'y know if these have been mentioned before cos' I haven't read the whole thread but some of my favourites are:

Colin Jones v Kirkland Laing
Tony Sibson being completely outclassed by Hagler
Hagler v Hearns
Denis Andries v Hearns
Colin Jones v Kirkland Laing
Herol Graham v Julian Jackson
Iran Barkley v Nigel Benn

Some good choices there Gunslinger. I can picture most of the fights mentioned.

Barkley v Benn wasn't actually that great a fight, its just that its my biggest ever gambling win and was a lot of money back in 1991, I think.

I liked the Sibson fight because Sibbo was all heart and just wouldn't give up but eventually was reduced to a man who as much as anything was defeated mentally more than physically when finally realising that he was literally fighting an indestructable robot made of iron.

Andries took the biggest beating ever but just kept getting up off of the canvas for more. Absolute bravery (stupidity some said) and a chin of granite.

Laing v Jones, just beat seven bells out of each other every round. They fought two or three times didn't they?

Graham v Jackson, can watch that one over and over. Graham may have become a true great were it not for that one bolt out of the blue.

Hagler v Hearns, possibly the greatest all around 9 minute period of all that is great about the noble art.

I was at the Sibson fight.

Hagler kept him waiting for what seemed an eternity (think it was about 9 minutes) and then battered him for 6 rounds.

I felt sorry for Sibson by the end. He genuinely believed that he could beat Hagler and I think was very shocked by what he came up against.

Not sure I should mention it in light of what happened afterwards but Benn v MCClellan has to be right up there too
