The Chinese still remember the Opium Wars over the British using British Asians to flood their country with drugs.

I just thought saying a country with 6th highest gdp in the world was irelevant was somewhat sensationalist.

not sensationalist if you understand what 'context' means, which from your replies it seems you do not

China didn't want it, though. They make their own rules. Good for them.

You referred to UK as irrelevant, and said of course china wouldn't listen to an irrelevant country. I presumed that you therefore meant that they would listen to a relevant country. I thought that might mean someone like usa.

If UK are an irrelevant country, who is a "relevant" country?

The UK's finished, it's an old world country that the new world has no time for.

It's described in diplomatic circles as an old fart of a country that is getting smellier and smellier by the minute.

Canaryboy would be Seething with rage if he actually had an opinion.

He''ll be searching for the next issue with which to start a thread about to start an arguement which he adds nothing to.

indeed tts. i like how when somebody mentioned most brits were pro-capital punishment that it was 'irrelevant' but he then cites the case of some bloke who killed his wife like that has any bearing on this case. just argues, unsuccessfully, for the sake of it.

BK, i was making reference to global political and diplomatic circles.
Once upon a time when the UK PM walked into a room other leaders would rush over to great them.

Now they just put a peg on their nose.

Lefty clown, bara your the reason the death penalty would never work here, any nasty criminal would immediately become mentally ill.
By:

1.01 Crims across the country get the mental diagnosis logged with their local GP early doors, never know when it will come in handy.
By:
canaryboy
When: 29 Dec 09 10:35
of course it was irrelevant easter

because what is being argued here is the man's mental state

not whether the death penalty is right or wrong in general

but please feel free to tell me different tho...
By:
baracouda30
When: 29 Dec 09 10:36
Not really. I just believe that mentally ill people might not be functioning in the same way as the rest of society, which means applying the same laws is ridiculous.

Yawn at the leftie luvvie PC comments. They reveal the paucity of your arguments.

If this guy was mentally ill (and like you I don't know) would you be in favour of killing him?

YES OR NO.
By:
canaryboy
When: 29 Dec 09 10:37
and the thread was whether they'd execute this mentally ill british man

then the usual racists hijacked it

as they always do...

Would Barry Bulsara and Colin Stagg be dead now if we had the death penalty in UK?
By:

Yes but 92 other innocent people would still be alive, because of it.
By:

When: 29 Dec 09 10:41
We aren't talking about Huntley Mr Splicer.

As ever, when you start to lose an argument, think up the most far fetched sh1t and throw it and hope it will stick.

Now....IF this guy was mentally ill, would you be in favour of his execution?

YES OR NO.
By:
Splicer Keats
When: 29 Dec 09 10:43
yes, he is still a drug smuggler,, and being bi polar does not enable people to strap drugs to you without you knowing, if he was in such a state he would not have been able to function, never mind smuggle and record singles.

of course it had a bearing

a person with an illness was found to be insane at the time of the incident due to illness

precisely the same thing which was argued in this case

so should ill people be executed?
