Brits behaviour aborad must be exemplary compared to what immigrants do here if we're swapping prisoners one for one. Was the nigerian bird with the british passport indicative of the hard working immigrants that you and Sparky seem to love so much ? No she wasn't, was she ? She decided that drug smuggling was an easier option, at the ripe old age of 23. It seems she had no intention of working and if she gets her baby back she will no doubt go onto benefits when she is released, and knock out a few more sprogs. Why wasn't she deported home to Nigeria ? |

There was never really any doubt what would happen. You only have to look at China's general attitude to see that. For example they are polluting the world on a massive scale and don't care. They are responsible for countless human rights abuses. Remember Tianamen Square. They don't give a toss what anyone thinks. Ok this case was drugs related and that always leads to lots of calls to "string 'em up" but look at the wider issues and China in general. It would be good to see the government actually back up its words with some action for a change but that won't happen. There should be no place in the world for a country like China that takes no account of anyone else.
