Reprieve said Dr Peter Schaapveld, a forensic psychologist, believes it was very likely that Mr Shaikh's strange behaviour was "influenced or caused by" his mental illness.

It said Chinese experts have joined Dr Schaapveld in calling for a proper mental health evaluation.

well yeah, why would they call for something that has already happened...

In this case, what should the punishment be for drug smuggling?
By:

Canaryboy, for certain crimes i'd say yes.

China has decided that heroin smuggling is punishable by death

If we are a bit soft on them, thats our decision.

what should be the punishment for the Heroin Smuggler in this case?
By:

When: 27 Dec 09 10:37
But the barrister said the prosecution did not seek a murder or manslaughter conviction.

Instead, he said the prosecution would be arguing for the "special verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity".

The alternative, the jury was told, would be "a simple verdict of not guilty".

then surely the same thing can be applied to drug smugling

'reason of insanity'

The same reason the coffee coloured failed asylum seeker got 4 months for killing somebody with his car. Now he has the 'right to a family life' in the UK and will not be deported.

Until somebody runs the cvnt over :)

Yes, he was mad if he thought he wouldn't get caught.

Shoot him.

Canarboy, you just like to argue.

I remember you arguing over the nigerian bird (with a british passport) who was sentenced to death in Laos for drug smuggling.

She got pregnant in prison solely to avoid the death penalty, and that w@nkstain Jack Straw got her home to serve her sentence in a soft UK prison.

She wasn't mad. She could have had the baby in Laos, which would have been adopted by a couple like you and you partner no doubt, to give it a good life in the UK.

Then they could have shot her.

Guilty stinking low life drug smuggler - dead.

Innocent baby - alive.

I'd have been happy to see that.

But not you, you started throwing accusations of racism into it, purely for the sake of argument.

it would appear most of the threads on the laos case were pulled because of racist comments

anyway, here's a gem from LF on the thread that survived

Make your mind up, dumbo.

You start off saying she has been transfered because she is pregnant.

Then later you claim it's because she isn't white.

Get it right, are you wetting yourself about perceived sexism or racism?

Or is it the double whammy and you are whacking off over a picture of Clarkson and a Daily Mail as we speak, whilst barricading your doors?

So my comments just above yours are considered racist.

Tell me how.

It's what I posted before.

It wasn't pulled for 'racism', it was pulled because it offended people who don't like the truth. All drug smugglers are s(um. This one was black. That's why you took offence at the posts. I've not see you do the same when a white s(umbag smuggles drugs, and I advocate shooting him/her/it/ You only appear when the criminal is black or asian, just for the sake of an argument.

People who consider posts 'offensive' may complain, and the posts. and/or threads, will be removed.

I find posts of let all the immigrants in' offersive but I don't run to a betfair moderator.

Big Charlie - the reason we took that woman back is because of an international agreement we have with some countries. We will take back our convicts from abroad and keep them in prison in return for us sending back their convicted crims in the same circumstances.

I thought you might approve of this sort of thing.
