Done be the ground today , jumped left a couple of times but not liking the jar, 14s now , fill your boots , even if you dont fancy her come next march there is a good free bet in the trade

Won't she be at least that price, next year looks stronger at this stage and she will probably have a few reversals in the key trials beforehand, so I don't see how her price contracts
At the prices I would take a chance with Energumene at 12's before next week, I agree that Shishkin might not be quite as good as he's cracked up to be but Energumene is priced up as if he'd run and been beat at the festival and Shishkin is priced up as if he'd beaten all the top 2 milers around....6/4 must be the worst price at this stage for a festival race ever!!! |
By:
She never seemed to travel on the track at any stage, although Sandown is a test its not like Cheltenham, more emphasis on jumping. Duffy you could be right in terms of price, she could be beat a few times next season and go to Cheltenham around the same price.. I would disagree Betting a potential good horse at shorter than the Champ Chase winner though..
|
By:
she needs to be fresh, yesterday was too close to cheltenham dont think it was anything to do with ground or track,so next year two runs before xmas then champion chase again, its then if she is good enough
|
By:
It looked a weak QM on the day and nothing since has changed my opinion on that. However, the Arkle form has been franked by the Skelton horse. Enugermene may end up in the Ryanair - his tendency to jump right would be a big problem on the old course.
|
By:
Duffy, there is every indication that she will be going back to Cheltenham for another two mile chase after summering and then to the festival again next year. She is clearly "horses for courses" and in the quevaga mould, any repeat of her winter wins at Cheltenham will see the price fall.
|
By:
It's true Irish, she's 4 from 4 on the old course, including two winss at the Festival, and deserves respect. I guess she'll run in the Schloer Chase at the November meeting again.
After this week, it looks like Allaho will stick to 2 1/2 miles plus (wouldn't be shocked to see him try to make all in the King George) and Enugermene will be aimed at the Champion Chase. It's clearly bugging Mullins that he hasn't won it. But, I'd be surprised if one of Shishkin and Enurgemene isn't better than PTKO. Chachun Por Soir looked so good this week, we alos need to ask of he didn't handle Cheltenahm, or if he just had an off day for some reason. If the latter, he's a huge player for the Champion Chase next year as well. One imagines he'll hoover up decent races in Irelnad in tbe run up to the Festival. |
By:
They will have to be as bold with CPS as they were at Punchestown by assuming that the track is of no consequence and attempt to batter the field into submission and win the race early.
He is a powerful galloper through the race, and they know full well how he'd win the race. Riding him to pick up after the last with horses still about him won't work. |
By:
True that.
|
By:
I think Shishkin will emulate Altior here. But, CPS will not win at Cheltenham otherwise he'd have won this year's renewal.

Racing doesn't work like that unfortunately. The horse just wasnt good enough on the day I dont believe for a second the course was the issue and as good of a week Mullins did have, I recall him mentioning a few of his horses definitely didn't run to the best of their ability. (Monkfish for example and a few others). Shiskin to me looks a very poor ante post value to me (Hasn't ran against ANYTHING anywhere near the ability of Chacun/Energumene/PTKO). I'd be with the Irish here all day at this moment in time. |

Put The Kettle On is another distaff star for De Bromhead, having completed a massive Festival hat-trick for the trainer last season by winning the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
The seven-year-old is unbeaten in four starts at Cheltenham. After skipping a run in last month’s PWC Champion Chase because of unsuitable ground at Gowran, Put The Kettle On will return to her spiritual home next week to make her seasonal bow. De Bromhead said: “She’s going for the Shloer Chase. She seems in great form — she worked really well on Wednesday. Sadly we couldn’t run in the PWC at Gowran, so we go for the Shloer now, and we’re really happy with her. “Obviously she loves Cheltenham. Whatever it is — the tightness, the undulations — she just loves it around there. Aidan (Coleman) gets a fantastic tune out of her.” |

Fully expecting to be ridiculed, but I’ve saw worse 16/1 ante post selections than Envoi Allen for the Champion Chase.
Cheveley Park have Allaho for the Ryanair and A Plus Tard for the Gold Cup again (assuming they get there in one piece). At this stage you’d expect him to be campaigned towards the Gold Cup, but I’ll be keeping a close eye on his next entries. He certainly doesn’t lack speed and from what I can see, there hasn’t been anything definitive mentioned by connections regarding his long term aim. Henry de Bromhead in his ATR stable tour said “ We are looking at the second-season chaser race at Down Royal as a starting point for him. We’ll see how he goes there before we decide which way to go with him in trip terms. He’s working well and seems in great order”. All we can take from the Down Royal debut is that he’s fit and healthy which is a positive of course. |

Not to mention their potential bumper winner
|

have to agree with irishone here put the kettle on is TOO BIG AND 14/1 EACH WAY LOOKS WELL WORTH TAKING ! also backed nube negra each way at 25s .good luck.

The facts are that PTKO is a 153 horse away from Cheltenham and 160 horse on the old course. She’s the lowest rated winner of the race as far as I can remember (160)
She was well ridden last year and in the right place to take advantage of a bang average Champion Chase if CPS underperformed which obviously happened. Politologue being withdrawn also helpful. To say Shishkin is not that good is ridiculous. He’s already rated 10lbs superior to the Champion Chase winner after his novice season. His Arkle win is rated a stone higher than PTKO’s. Allmankind, Captain Guinness and Eldorado Allen who he beat effortlessly in the Arkle have all won in the last 2 weeks. Henderson knows what a top 2 miler looks like and Shishkin is right up their with likes of Altior. If Energumene and Envoi join the party PTKO would need to improve again into the mid 160’s to even hit the frame. CPS could also turn this years form around if ridden more forcefully. 10/1 isn’t stonking value. 14/1 is just about acceptable. Is Shishkin 7/4 value. Not at all. But the most likeliest winner on all known form and facts. |

Not sure what you think is funny ? Maybe you can share what amuses you so much.
Remember I did say “IF”. |
By:
Cant be bothered tbh hibore, but just to let you know I didnt laugh as much as I did when I found out you owned the lip of one of Gerry Hogans !
|
By:
Didn’t think you could explain your pointless post without outing yourself as an idiot.
|
By:
No ....this is idiocy mate
"Hibore • February 14, 2021 8:03 PM GMT I didn’t realise that she was losing badly on purpose last time. Chancun made her look like a selling plater. 155 is her best ever rating at Cheltenham + 7lbs = 162. That’s Greenateen no better. Maybe they have been cheating like Byrne ? 155 for an Arkle winner is incredibly poor. Backing sentiment is a mugs game. " Thanks I put more on put the kettle on after you wrote that. |
By:
Just shows it was the worst Champion Chase in living memory. She ran to 160.
|
By:
You need to move on mate.
You were 100% wrong last year Even the BHA has said there is a problem rating Irish horses Ratings dont win races They are merely a guide Its an objective assessment of a very subjective animal They dont allow for the ground, the going, the weather , the jockey etc etc If they were gold standard there would be no racing You need to chill and consider learning |

nube negra ,puthe kettleon rouge vif ,politi tommorow should be a cracker its hottin up !
|
By:
Nube Negra puts hat in the ring with impressive win. Makes up for unlucky run in Champion last year. Interesting if they take on Shishkin and co in Tingle next.
Mares Chase beckons for Put The Kettle as looks like would appreciate further in quieter company. |
By:
yes it was a good run today from nube i am happy with that and more than halved in price for the big one at chelt , the mare will be better with a bit more cut .
|
By:
You're a rascal Hibore
|
By:
Did I mention the OP’s back her at 10/1 and lay off for a profit nonsense. That would be uncouth. I’m trying to be constructive. I’d back her in the Mares at 14/1…run in the race you have most chance of winning surely ? |
By:
never looked like winning at any stage in the
race today.Bit under par. |
By:
Agree with Foyles , quicker than last March and looked like she hated it .
|
By:
Henry knows .
|
By:
25\1 e w is gold dust
|
By:
Fall out seems to be three fold, aiden misjudged the pace, she didnt like the ground and was too fresh particularly in the paddock.
|
By:
Back her if you like but I never trust mares to hold their form for more than 2 seasons unless they prove that they have. Nube Negra was impressive but so was Shishkin last season and we have yet to see him since.
|
By:
Aidan misjudged the pace

Any stats on that sage ?
With quevega, dawn run, mysilv in mind ! |
