Don't think he said that Impossible.

By:
^ I wouldnt have inferred that. If hes not 100% ricci doesnt want him to go. But he will talk to WM team next week. The only reason he might go to Ryanair is Ruby/WM earbending next week. Is what i got from it.

shockster,
Cheers, I missed the ATR interview. Anyway, has laid him here and backed him on Sportsbook 'with a run'. |

Please...
So all is not lost for the Ryanair then. I think connections must be forced to choose two weeks before if a horse has multiple entries. |
By:
Gold Cup or stays at home was stated few days ago.
By:
Stated by ricci though. Ricci wants 2 bullets at the gold cup. Hes not interested in the ryanair. But he will listen to WMs team because he pays them
By:
A few days is a long time in Racing where WPM/RW/RR are concerned.
By:
well that joker ruby walsh wants to go for the ryanair
By:
Surely if he's not showing 100% zip, Ryanair is the one. He'll still be a 5-4 shot absolute worst case scenario
By:
What are the price money for the GC and Ryanair please?
By:
will he stay or wont he,will he actually turn up,if he does which race will he run in,looks like the owner wants the gold cup,the jockey wants the ryanair and the trainer doesnt want to say and i thought the eu referendum was complicated
By:
Brilliant summing up that GAZO.
By:
ruby had no qualms in picking faugheen for last year CH although he'd been on the fly for so many previous runs so IF he favours Djakadam for the GC there will be reasoning and not emotions behind it...for me personally vautour won't win GC (and I've backed Djakadam for last year and this year) but i'd still like to see him run...that being said i did take 5/4 nrnb for ryanair which he'd win even at 90%
By:
Hope he runs gold cup
By:
I cant handle this anymore.
Backed him for the gold cup straight after the jlt last season, been backing him ever since. will ruin my festival if he doesn't make it to the gold cup. hes a monster and i'm expecting an astonishing performance if he runs. Im Sure all this talk is just pr nonsense either to make the price drift so connections can get on at a good price or they are just taking the pressure off themselves. just out of interest if he makes it... how many people plan on laying vautour in running? obviously going to be travelling better than anything in the race, so this scenario.. swinging in on the home bend on the staff looking the clear winning, don cossack under the pump don poli outpaced, cue card just starting to get niggled at... but then bricking it think hes not going to stay. what price will he be turning into home...2.0??? |
By:
I think if RW chooses Djakadam Vautour will not be risked with another pilot on board; then RR hand could have been forced, and Vautour will be Ryanair bound.
By:
Just like in kg
By:
Biggest thing for me in that he says he has been trained for the gold cup all year and sounded to me like that's where he will go and he has his mind set and that's it no matter what ruby would like! Plus ruby himself came out and said he was more joking about the Ryanair and will have a tough choice to pick! And lastly he is well and sound as he was quick to correct Jason when he said otherwise.
By:
Iam sure ruby will pick vautor so y not run djakadam in ryanair
By:
Turning into home if Vautour is in front, follow by Djakadam and CC, with DC struggling and DP in 5th place probably 2/1 I'd say.
By:
You serious Rocky??
Out of the two,one is a definite stayer in the Gold Cup,one is a doubtful stayer. I will be amazed if Walsh chose Vautour over Djakadam in a race over 3m2f. |
By:
I'm not sure when Walsh is going to make a decision but the ground has to be a big factor.
By:
vautours class and jumping plus ruby was kicking him self after kg saying he went far to soon .
By:
An extra 2f and the hill, and with the two Dons in the race I'd think RW has little choice but to ride a similar race at Cheltenham to the KG otherwise Vautour will be outstayed by them/others easily.
By:
Absolutely has to ride Vautour the way the horse likes to be ridden, that's his only chance.
If he don't stay then so be it,but no way should they change tactics to try and stay. Either he does or he don't. Personally think he's a N/R anyway, but hope I'm wrong. |
By:
We're hitting a new low even for this outfit.
Best thing to do is to scrap the Ryanair and all the other mickey mouse races and revert to a 3 day festival and therefore a straight forward choice. Will never happen, clearly, as the course, bookies, trainers and jocks want as many races as possible. |
By:
Not often you see a horse hit 100 & 6.6 in the same day
By:
I'm pretty sure Walsh will choose Vautour over Djakadam.
Regardless of what is being said by everyone else Ruby has been pretty consistent with his opinion that Vautour will stay the GC trip. |
By:
Has he???
By:
If he had won kg by head every one would be saying he stays
By:
Would they?
Depends how the race goes and how he looked at the end,as he has to go extra 2 furlongs plus at Cheltenham. |
By:
Reckon Walsh, Mullins, Mullins, Russell, Richi and all the hangers on have got a WhatsApp group...
Richi "Vautour's a decent price again for the Ryanair on Betfair, I'll get the cash down and you boys start the preview night rumours that he's going there" Russell "I said he's deinitely going to the Ryanair" Willie "right then, now to make it clear he's only going to the Gold Cup..." Richi "Class, we're all sorted on Betfair...time to start the Ryanair rumours again...?" |
By:
very few KG winners (or placed) actually win the GC, which is why Kauto (and Dessie!) is one of the all time greats...vautour reminds me of One Man who even though he won a KG and a Hennessy just didn't stay GC trip and had to go back to QM to get a festival win..
By:
This century 11 out of 15 King George Chases were won by horses that were Gold Cup winners
By:
They've always maintained he's a Gold Cup horse saying he'd be better with a proper trip and his pedigree suggests 3m+ should be ok. I recall him saying he could win 2-4m (probably the 4 is in jest mind!)
17th November 2015 Vautour has to prove he will stay the 3m2½f Gold Cup trip, but Walsh, who does not think the son of Robin Des Champs should be favourite for the race, is optimistic it will not be a problem. "It's a big question," he added on Racing UK. "It's an extra six furlongs and you have some really good horses to take on. It will be interesting and I think he'll stay. After his gushing praise of Vautour after the JLT, he's going to have to develop big reservations to get off him IMO. |
By:
PP has 5/6 each RW on either Vautour or Djakadam, and Coral 4/7 and 5/4 respectively.
PP has 1/2 BC on Don Poli and 6/4 Don Cossack, and Coral 4/6 and 11/10 respectively. |
By:
surely Vautour backers would be concerned if he chose Djakadam, latter coming off a fall and an injury, does n't mean he can't win but has to be a concern.
Can't see him choosing Djakadam personally. |
By:
thats because Kauto won 5 and Kicking King 2, which skews the results. silviniaco and florida pearl tried multiple times.
By:
Long Run also won 2. So 3 horses skewing the results significantly there.
