I'd fancy him more for the Supreme than a county...and I think he's got no chance in the Supreme.

Any chance Doctor Harper runs against L'Ami Serge tomorrow in the hopes of getting dropped a pound?!!

Doctor Harper would need to have 2 years off then a couple of P's beside his name before they drop him a pound unfortunately. Was really looking forward to him in the Novice Handicap. Sad

maelduin obviously you corrected me about Aux Ptit Soins but another question regarding this subject please? My reasoning for my mistake was the case of MTOY when he won the Betfair Hurdle I clearly remember they had to rush another run into him at Huntingdon to be able to run in the Betfair. Am I right in thinking if it's your novice season you have to had 3 runs over hurdles to qualify for a certain class handicap? Aux Ptit Soins wasn't a novice was he? Could be wrong againLaugh

i thought i'd give the forum a go, can see why some like it - some great knowledge on here and much respect for many - but its not for me - will stick to reading from now on

Odds on you will be back posting by the weekend. In fact i bet you've already had the urge to post this morning. Don't fight it MS, you're addicted. Grin

Yes if you'll be a novice going into the race like MTOY.

Fankoo maelduinBlush

So Townshend is a novice who has ran only twice over hurdles? So therefore he does actually have to run again to qualify to run in a Cheltenham handicap?

Don't know what the plan is but Montbazon had a nice reintroduction after a long lay off in the Betfair Hurdle yesterday, mad keen early, dropped out at the back, ran on towards the end of race, not knocked about.

Interesting to see what rating Starchitect gets after tomorrow.   Thought he was really well handicapped and ran a great race.   Should be even better on better ground and will be a live contender for the County imo.

Ive been chipping away at Rennetti for Coral Cup this horse has some nice peices of form and to me looks like step up in distance would be interesting and worth a punt

^^ Really like him too moat. He's a bit quirky but he looks like he has a big engine. Always staying on nicely in his races so CC looks ideal and we know he acts around Cheltenham. GL

Rease....Thats a good shout Montbazon, touched off in supreme, then county 2 yrs later off 140,hoping he gets dropped a couple after yesterday,138 would get him in the county normally.
Very few miles on the clock for 9 yr old, interesting both times he went close at the festival,he prepped at the newbury meeting, would want some good in the going, obviously had his problems, canny trainer, interesting.

Will be backing montbazon as well. Backed him on Sat and was watching him hoping he may sneak a place and was given a quite ride towards the end of the race.

Re Montbazon

Pretty much a rewrite of the career of Manyriverstocross, also a King inmate who went close in the Coral Cup a few years back after a long lay off and 'interesting' prep in the Betfair Hurdle

rog - County Hurdle wasn't it. I was on at 33/1 and screaming him home. Came 3rd after 3 years off the track. Got a good run for my money and a decent financial return.

Could be - the perils of not checking the form book before posting but it was one of the two .

I would be of the opinion that modus has to be the best handicapped 2 mile hurdler and will have his day in the sun on good ground. Ignore the run in the mud. County Hurdle or Galway Hurdle
By:

Absolutely agree on Modus, if he goes for it then is a knocking bet for the County Hurdle.

where do we think townshend will go at the fez if runs again to qualify?  the martin pipe would be my pick if gets a rating 135-140.

^^ If his recent race entries are an indicator then it looks like the MP. Let's hope he runs/wins by a hard fought 1/2l on Saturday and gets 135. GL

Unique de Cotte - conveniently hampered by a faller. Maybe novice handicap 1st day?
By:

I think he'll need a third run to qualify.

Not necessarily plot horses as such but think a good few PFN horses by circumstance will be well treated.
By:
Swardean
When: 27 Feb 16 13:16
I think ALL YOURS is very well handicapped for PFN.  This is a grade 1 winning hurdler and you can ignore all its form on soft ground.   He is rated 147.   It is a joke that Connetable is rated 150 as AY would beat him 99/100 over 2 miles on good ground.

Target is County but could miss festival altogether in favour of Scottish Champion Hurdle. 20/1 NRNB

Generous Ransom perhaps. Could run Saturday and is engaged twice at Cheltenham. Pure guesswork on my part nothing more than that.

A very positive mention by PN for All Yours at the Betfair preview evening.

This Generous Ransom looks like running on Saturday and needs to win there to get in at Prestbury Park. On his best behaviour that would pose no problem.

Not been through the whole thread again but decent call from the bloob on Romain De Senam.

One or two shouts for the County tomorrow but my own pick Montbazon has sneaked in at the bottom off 2lbs lower than when 3rd in this 2 years ago, evidence of Betfair Hurdle is that he's retained all his ability, this race seems to get stronger each year and there will be plenty more fashionable, progressive types but I expect a big run from Montbazon.
